The shop is heated. We use swamp coolers in the hotter months.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

The shop is open 6a - 8:30pm during the longest operating days. The opening and closing shift time will change based on operating hours and sunset times. We are currently looking to fill our Sunday - Thursday late shift.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Diagnostic tools/scanner; A/C equipment; specialty tools Our Technicians regularly have their own tool box

What type of break room facility is provided?

There is a separate break area to eat or just relax.

How many bays does your shop have?

Nine

How many repair orders do you average per month?

Approximately 100+

What is your parts ordering process?

We have a dedicated Parts Administrator in charge of ordering and stocking inventory.

What is your policy on side work?

No side work is permitted at the facility

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We are proud of the cleanliness of our shop and the teamwork within our department and company. We have an expectation that all employees remain professional and offer excellent customer service. We pay hourly to account for excellent quality standards and meeting all safety expectations.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We support all technicians to get ASE certificated. We reimburse test fees after passing tests. We provide study guides for the ASE tests.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We meet with employees within 90 days to give feedback. Our annual reviews are performance based and happen at the end of the year.

SMITH Safe Driving General Safety Training Hand Tool Training Forklift Training and Certification

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We have a teamwork atmosphere. Our technicians are continually sharing thoughts and ideas on how to improve processes and procedures.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We offer our training room to local automotive stores to offer training classes.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Post our open technician positions at local college.

Yes, the Human Resources (HR) Manager will conduct an initial phone interview.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

The Fleet Manager will walk the candidate around our shop and fabrication areas. The HR and Fleet Manager will ask interview questions including skills based questions. The candidate has an opportunity to ask us questions.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We do require pre-employment background checks, drug screening and DOT physicals.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

The Fleet manager ask questions and gives scenarios as a skill assessment.
