Shop is heated & air conditioned.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We currently have 19 passenger car technicians, 6 Sprinter van technicians, and 2 technicians on our PDI/preowned team.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Service department is open Mon-Fri 7:30am-6pm, with passenger car also open Saturday 8am-5pm.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Technicians supply their own general tools (securely housed in built-in Snap-On boxes) and the dealership has specialty/manufacturer tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Break room amenities include refrigerators, microwaves, coffee, oven, toaster oven, filtered water, & ice machine.

How many bays does your shop have?

For passenger cars we have 21 in-ground Rotary lifts, 5 scissor/two-post lifts utilized by our PDI/preowned team, plus flush mount Hunter equipped alignment rack. For Sprinter we have 7 heavy duty lifts plus Hunter equipped alignment rack.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

For 2024 we averaged 1380 passenger car ROs/month and 459 Sprinter/Metris vans.

What is your parts ordering process?

We have a very high in-stock fill rate on Mercedes-Benz parts and overnight when needed from the Mercedes-Benz distribution center in Fontana, CA.

What is your policy on side work?

Every vehicle being worked on in the shop has a repair order and labor/parts billed as appropriate.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

MBUSA offers extensive online training resources for technicians and required quarterly recertifications. The Shop Foreman reviews training paths and we send technicians to Mercedes-Benz Learning Centers for courses that are instructor led.

We routinely meet to discuss performance and expectations, recognizing outstanding performance and coaching to improve deficiencies.

Safety is a priority and we have many annual requirements to ensure proper training.

Apprentice technicians are matched with a Master Technician to develop the skills and work habits to build a successful career.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We work with local technical colleges giving tours, answering questions, and hiring graduates.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

While we typically like to meet in-person, we do offer phone screens in cases of geographical distances or other circumstances that would make in-person more difficult.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Our in-person interview is an opportunity to meet the team, see the facility, discuss the details of the position, and generally see if it is mutually a good fit.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We require a copy of driving record to ensure insurability, along with background screening.

We generally do not have a skills assessment.

We typically try to move quickly for qualified applicants to extend a job offer and move forward with screening.

7-10 days would be a typical timeline for application, interview, and consideration of all applicants.

A-Technician (Master) Pay Range: $45.00 - $52.00/hour
