Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
Our shop is equipped with in floor heat.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
We currently have a total of nine technicians and keep growing.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
We are open Monday through Friday from 7am-12am. Saturdays we are open from 7am-12pm with our technicians only on call. Our times for shifts vary and there are many options for shifts. We are very flexible and try to accommodate the best we can to our employee's schedules.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
All OEM-specific tools and a lot of the heavier equipment as well.
What type of break room facility is provided?
We have one break room with two tables. Our breakroom includes a fridge, microwave, vending machines, and pizza oven.
How many bays does your shop have?
Our shop currently has twelve bays.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
On average per month, we have about 70-80 repairs a month.
What is your parts ordering process?
Our technicians will write up each repair with our in-house program. This will go both to our service and parts department, thereafter our parts team will either pull, transfer from another location, or order the parts that are needed for the repair. We always make sure to update our customers with an ETA of parts.
What is your policy on side work?
We are okay with our employees having outside work, as long as it follows our standards and does not interfere with hours at Kriete.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
We provide all levels of OEM training, in-person training as well as online training is paid for by our company. We provide certification reimbursement in some situations as well as offer tuition.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
The plan for our technicians is to keep growing into the best they can be. Our goal is to be able to have each individual become a master technician if they wish. We provide any necessary training and support they may need to achieve this.
Can you describe your performance review process?
Our standard review is every 90 days with our technician. Our service advisor conducts these and talks about achievements, improvements, and goals for the next 90 days.
What type of safety training is required?
No formal safety training.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
Our technicians will work side by side with a more green technician until they feel comfortable. When ready to take on jobs of their own, our shop foreman will still be there to answer any questions they may have along the way.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
We are involved in the National Tractor Pull in Tomah, West Salem Business Association, and we are a part of the golf outing at Fox Hollow Golf Course to support local businesses.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
Kriete tries to get as involved as possible with local schools. We attend career fairs as well as offer tours and education about or shop for future employees. We also have the capability of going to any school to talk about our program and benefits.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Generally, we do in-person interviews.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
Any member of management is able to conduct an interview. We want to get to know you, your job history, and your skill set. We want to make you feel comfortable in an interview so we try to make it more of a conversation.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
Background checks, drug screenings, and driving records prior to employment will all be factors within the hiring process.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
Not generally, but we will ask you about your experience with past jobs.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
An offer letter will be sent within 24 hours.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
Within one week.
Student Tech / Apprentice
Pay Range: $18.00 - $21.00/hour

A Level Technician
Pay Range: $50.00 - $80.00/hour
This pay range is based on Master skill level. Can include overtime. Can vary based on attendance, performance and efficiency Flat-rate pay structure based on experience, certifications, skill set Salary can vary per location based on local cost of living.
B Level Technician
Pay Range: $45.00 - $70.00/hour
This pay range is based on approaching Master skill level or equivalent experience. Can include overtime. Hourly rate can vary based on attendance, performance and efficiency Flat-rate pay structure based on experience, certifications, skill set Salary can vary per location based on local cost of living.
