Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Our shop is equipped with a quick-heat ventilation system. Vents are located above each service bay.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We trust our team to operate individually. Which translates into immediate personal benefit without contingences based off team performance.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

We operate a convenient fixed Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends. Our service department operates from 7:00am-5:00pm. With our Technician's hours being either 7:00am-3:30pm or 8:00am-4:30pm to promote a healthy work-life balance.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We provide all the necessary Manufacturer specialty tools required to complete repair orders to specification.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We offer a newly remodeled break room area located right next the service drive. With new furniture, refrigerator, microwaves, pizza oven, and dishwashing area. We also offer free made-to-order Starbucks coffee, various tea selections, and ice machines with filtered water.

How many bays does your shop have?

38 in the Service Department and 15 in the Body Shop

How many repair orders do you average per month?

Over 2,000

What is your parts ordering process?

We have a Parts Department located on the premises with Parts personnel dedicated to fulfilling additional parts orders as needed. All other parts are readily available.

What is your policy on side work?

You will be able to work on your own vehicle with a simple approval from the Service Manager

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We offer numerous in-house training opportunities with the highest qualified Technicians. Also, various offsite training opportunities specific to each manufacturer.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

While working side-by-side with Sr. Management, we tailor a plan dedicated to the path of your choosing. Whether is it to pursue a career as a full-fledged Master Technician or leading an entire department as a Fix Operations Manager. We provide you the tools you need to be successful and excel.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We have periodic reviews with the Fixed Operations and Service Department Manager focused on evaluating hours produced, quality of work, and overall performance.

What type of safety training is required?

The necessary online courses for shop procedures, proper equipment usage, and safety attire. Additional training as required is provided by Comply-Net.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Entry level technicians are assigned to work side-by-side with a Master Technician to provide a comprehensive hands-on experience in the field.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

As an exponentially growing company heavily involved with numerous local non-profits organizations. We are platinum-sponsors for all local events and fundraisers for the cities we reside in. As well as surrounding cities.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We are planning and developing new in-person programs to get involved with various schools in our residing areas. As we continue to sponsor numerous groups within our local schools, we also find it important to personally speak with students about opportunities after concluding schooling.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

Continuing to perform at the highest level of service with top tier technicians. While continuing to assist entry-level technicians grow into very successful roles.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Jeff Belzer's believes in expediting the interview process. The preliminary phone call is performed to simply answer questions and set up a day/time to meet directly with the hiring team.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

You will personally meet with the Fixed-Operations Manager and Service Director to discuss your possible future career at Jeff Belzer's.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Yes, we perform a standard background and driving history check

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

We do not. We do discuss and assess current certifications, professional work history, and accolades.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Typically in a day or two. Unlike typical dealerships, Jeff Belzer's chooses to expedite the entire interview process. Being a true family owned/operated organization. We do not believe in making a candidate wait for executives to make a hiring decision.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

It takes us days from start-to-finish. Jeff Belzer's entrusts those in leadership roles to do what is best for the organization. Therefore, there are not multiple parties involved inevitably prolonging the process.

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $15.00 - $17.00/hour

Potential for higher compensation based off experience. With management dedicated to the success of the team, we often promote from within this department to full-fledged technicians.

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $50,000.00 - $100,000.00/year ($24.04 - $48.08/hr)

Industry leading incentive plan with fast-track promotion plan for career advancement.

Used Car Technician Pay Range: $45,000.00 - $75,000.00/year

40-hour week, no nights or weekends, sign-on bonus, years-of-service bonus, retention and referral bonus

Master Technician Pay Range: $50,000.00 - $125,000.00/year ($24.04 - $60.10/hr)

Guaranteed hourly wage of $33/hour, above Union incentive scale, 40-hour week, no nights or weekends, sign-on bonus, years-of-service bonus, retention and referral bonus

Service Technician Pay Range: $35,000.00 - $65,000.00/year ($16.83 - $31.25/hr)

40-hour week, no nights or weekends, sign-on bonus, years-of-service bonus, retention and referral bonus

Health Insurance Offered
Jeff Belzer's offers health insurance coverage through Medica. We offer 3 different plan options, along with 3 coverage networks for those who you visit for care. The 3 medical plan options (Deductive-Copay-Coinsurance after deductible) are as follows: $750-35-25% Plan, $2500-45-25% Plan, or $3500-25% HSA Plan. Jeff Belzer's also offers a telemedicine app (HealthiestYou) as a voluntary add-on to Health Insurance.

Jeff Belzer's offers dental insurance coverage through MetLife. We offer 2 different plan options—In Network and Out of Network ($2,000 annual maximum [per person])

Jeff Belzer's offers a retirement savings via a traditional 401(k) and/or Roth 401(k). All new-hired employees will be automatically enrolled in the plan at 6% following one-year of full-time service. Employer match is offered (varies upon year) at discretion of employer.

Disability benefits provide you with paycheck protection in the event you are unable to work due to a non-work related sickness or injury. The benefit amount for Short Term Disability is 60% of your pre-disability weekly earnings; up to the plan's maximum weekly benefit of $800. The benefit amount for Long Term Disability is 60% of your pre-disability monthly earnings; up to the plan's maximum monthly benefit of $5,000.
