There are 12 techs and an office staff of 4

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

There are a 1st shift and a second shift Monday through Thursday. Everyone works 1st shift on Friday. Saturday there is a morning shift.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

The shop can provide tools until the tech can buy and supply their own.

What type of break room facility is provided?

The break room has a microwave, fridge, and area for the techs to eat lunch. There is also a pop machine and candy for purchase.

How many bays does your shop have?

The shop has 6 main bays. There is also a paint bay and a wash bay.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

The shop combined averages around 150 per month but it varies depending on weather, service calls, and the type of work the is needed.

What is your parts ordering process?

Stock orders are ordered every morning and put in locations once they arrive. The techs pull from stock and issue out parts themselves. Special order parts are given to either the service writer or whomever needs to order the parts.

What is your policy on side work?

The policy is that you can work on your own or immediate family member's vehicles after work hours.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

The shop is a family orientated business. Once in a while lunches will be provided.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Technicians can learn about new areas and other opportunities if they ask questions and are willing to learn.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Technicians will work hands on and continue to learn about new areas if they are interested.

Can you describe your performance review process?

New technicians will be checked in with periodically to see how they feel everything is going and to see if there is anything that needs to be addressed.

What type of safety training is required?

There are safety glasses and ear plugs provided as well as a walkthrough of the shop floor so the employee will be aware of safety protocol.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Techs are continuously teaching, showing, and allowing newer technicians to grow by sharing their knowledge and what they have learned over the years.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

The shop is involved in the parade every year, they are involved with local high schools, and in community events.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Where do you see the shop in five years?

We see our shop thriving and growing and we will have great customer service and provide great customer experiences.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

There is a paper application that you can fill out when you come in for the interview before the in-person interview takes place. It takes about 5 minutes to fill the application out.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

You are more than welcome to call if you have any questions about the shop.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

You will have a sit-down meeting with Ryan and Aaron to talk about the position and to talk about what the job entails. They will also talk about your experience level, what type of work you are interested in doing while at Guys, and also any other certifications and experience you are looking to share. The in-person interview will take between 15-30 minutes and then if interested they will show you around the shop. They will show you our inventory locations and show you the bays. The interview process is very simple and easy.

There will be random drug screens if you hold a FedMed Card

There is not a skill assessment before hiring.

Depending on the applicant's schedule and interview you could receive a job offer right after the interview.

Depending on the applicant's schedule the hiring process could take anywhere from a couple hours to a few days.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?

The interview process is as simple, easy going, and personal as it can get. It is a time to get to know the applicant and for the applicant to see how everything works at Guys to see if it is a good fit for both the applicant and the company.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $30.00 - $38.00/hour

A LEVEL Techs are highly skilled Techs that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of tech typically has many years of experience.

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00/hour

B LEVEL Techs are skilled in mechanical repair and have some diagnostic skills. B Level techs generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $18.00 - $25.00/hour

C LEVEL Techs are more entry level. Responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake work, and suspension work.

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $15.00 - $18.00/hour
