Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
Shop is equipped with overhead heat and utilizes evaporator coolers in the summer months.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
Currently there is 10 technicians, 3 service advisors and 4 parts department team members.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Monday thru Friday the shop is open from 7:30 am mst to 6:00pm mst. Saturday the shop is open from 8:00am mst to 5:00pm mst. Technicians can choose between Monday thru Friday shift or a Tuesday thru Saturday.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
Nissan factory supplied special tools are organized in our tool room and maintained regularly. 3x Consult 3/4 are available for technician use. Dealership also has flush mount alignment rack for low profile equipped vehicles. BG fluid exchange equipment provided as well.
What type of break room facility is provided?
Technician lounge is equipped with locker rooms, refrigerator, microwave, air fryer and PC workstations access as well.
How many bays does your shop have?
There is 8 main shop bays, 2 Express service bays and 1 alignment bay.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
Currently we average 800 Repair orders a month and growing.
What is your parts ordering process?
We utilize a technology product called Dealerlogix. This piece allows our technicians to communicate directly with service advisors and parts staff to generate electronic parts requisitions. As well as send videos and photos to the customer to decrease approval wait times.
What is your policy on side work?
Technicians are allowed to work on personal and/or immediate household vehicles on their own time with a signed repair order from management prior to vehicle entering the shop.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
Education and training is a critical tool to the continuous development of all of our technicians from entry level express I to our senior master technicians. Nissan factory training starts online and after completion of prerequisites technicians will attend in person training at a variety of locations across the country. We also reimburse after successful completion of ASE testing.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
Several of our team members have advanced from entry level positions to main line technicians, senior master technicians or service advisors. We find significant value in promoting from within as the culture within only grows stronger.
Can you describe your performance review process?
We set monthly goals for our technicians and check-in weekly with the technicians towards those goals. In addition management and senior technicians work with technicians daily on challenges for both hands on skill development and diagnostic/process development. Performance reviews are generally had after returning from in person training to discuss what was learned and what goals the technician would like to accomplish next.
What type of safety training is required?
Part of Nissan's curriculum includes shop safety best practices, in addition our shop foreman works with all technicians to ensure the safety standards are met for all team members and that equipment is kept in proper working order.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
The dynamic in the shop is very team oriented. If one of our senior techs or shop foreman identifies a technician is struggling they jump right in and assist. This can range from demonstrating different diagnostic process or steps, to even an extra set of hands to help with larger scale repairs.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
Greeley Nissan likes to stay active within our community and works with the local 4h club, has booths at events like the home and garden show, Greeley Stampede and many other events through out the year. It important for our team to be out in the community with all of our customers to help us stay connected.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
Have worked with AIMS community college and their automotive program over the years. Form donating cores or vehicles and currently have two students on our express service team getting hands on experience concurrent with their education piece.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Depending on location from dealership a short phone call is usually held before scheduling an in person interview.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
Our in person interviews are one on one conversations where we dive into your background and experience, we like to share core values with each other, and go over our story at Greeley Nissan. followed by a tour of the facility. It most cases a follow up interview is needed to meet with upper management and other team members.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
There is a background check and MVR check to verify a technician or advisor is insurable within company policies.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
No formal skills assessment is performed prior to hiring. There is a 90 day trail period to demonstrate skill level.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
After the second interview an offer is potentially made at time of interview or decision will be made within 24-48 hours.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
Can range from 1-5 days depending on the position.
A Level Technician
Pay Range: $35.00 - $43.00/hour

Pay Range: $30.00 - $35.00/hour

Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00/hour

Service Advisor
Pay Range: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00/year
This is a salary plus commission based position.
Student Tech / Apprentice
Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.00/hour

Lube Technician
Pay Range: $17.00 - $20.00/hour
This is a clock hour position and is the first step in our process to growth as a technician.
