All of our shops have heat.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Genesis Cadillac - Five Service Technicians, Three Lube Technicians, Two Porters, Service Manager, Dispatcher, Parts Director, Two Parts Counter, Two Parts Drivers, Service Concierge, Three Service Advisors. Genesis Collision Center - Five Body Technicians, Two Painters, Three Detailers, Mechanical Technician, Used Car Technician, Three Professional Detailers, Reconditioning Porter, Reconditioning Manager, Body Shop Manager, Body Shop Office Manager,Two Estimators, Body Shop Parts Manager, Body Shop Parts Coordinator, Customer Service Representative.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Genesis Cadillac - 7:30am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday. Genesis Collision Center - 8:00am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

All specialty tools are provided.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Both shops have a breakroom with a fridge, coffee and microwave.

How many bays does your shop have?

Genesis Cadillac - Twelve bays in the mainshop, three quick lane bays, and three detail bays. Genesis Collision Center - Twenty-six bays between collision and reconditioning and six details bays between collision and reconditioning.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

Genesis Cadillac - Averages about 1,600 labor hours a month. Genesis Collision Center - Averages about 4,300 labor hours a month.

What is your parts ordering process?

Genesis Cadillac - Our parts department is ran by a Parts Director, Two Parts Counter guys and Two Parts Drivers. Genesis Collision - Our parts department is ran by a Body Shop Parts Manager dedicated to the collision center and a Parts Coordinator to run and stock parts.

What is your policy on side work?

Side work is not permitted in the premises.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Shop pays for completed and passed ASEs. Shop pays for MFG training both on site and off premise including.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We strongly believe in internal growth and are always looking for opportunities to continue to get better each day, that starts with our employees.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Employee reviews are completed after introductory period and annually.

What type of safety training is required?

We heavily invest in the saftey of our staff. We provide manufacturing, on-site and off-site, and web based training to make sure we are running a safe and efficient shop.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Our master technicians are afforded the opportunity to mentor new and upcoming techicians that we bring in from the GM ASEP program or other local programs.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

At Genesis Automotive Group, an essential part of our Christian values is to give back to our communities. We are proud to participate in efforts that have helped hundreds of thousands of Metro Detroiters by hosting donation drives and supporting local nonprofits, sports teams, restaurants, businesses, musicians, and artists.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Yes we strongly believe in becoming apart of school and tech programs so we can continue to assist in the development and education of young students.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

We prefer to always meet in person for our interviews, but will do phone interviews for those who find it more convenient

What do your in-person interviews entail?

We typically do two interviews, the first interview is with the Human Resources Manager to go over the details of the role to see if it is a good fit for both sides. The second interview is typically with the Human Resources Manager, Owner, and Service Manager and includes a tour of the facility. Depending on the scheduling sometimes it's only a one interview process where we skip the formal 1st interview.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Yes we preform a background check through ICHAT, a drug screen in-house or with Concentra, and we run a motor vehicle report.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

We have the capabilities too.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

No longer than a week.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Typically a week.

Student Tech / Apprentice Pay Range: $31,200.00 - $45,770.00/year ($15.00 - $22.00/hr)

Hourly

A Level Technician Pay Range: $65,000.00 - $160,000.00/year

Flat Rate - Master Certified Technician

B Level Technician Pay Range: $55,000.00 - $90,000.00/year

Flat Rate - Experienced technician proficient in: brakes, steering, suspension, electrical and HVAC

C Level Technician Pay Range: $35,000.00 - $55,000.00/year

Flat Rate - Experienced technician proficient in: brakes, steering and suspension

Lube Technician Pay Range: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00/year ($16.83 - $21.63/hr)

Flat Rate or Hourly - Entry level technician able to perform L.O.F. and minor maintenance. On the job training provided.

Collision Technician - A Level Pay Range: $75,000.00 - $130,000.00/year

Flat Rate - Body, Mechanical, and Frame

Collision Technician - B Level Pay Range: $50,000.00 - $90,000.00/year

Flat Rate - Body, Mechanical, and Frame
