Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Our shop is a fully enclosed, spacious facility designed to keep the elements out while providing a great work environment. While it’s not heated or air-conditioned, we’ve equipped it with large industrial fans, coolers, and additional fans to keep air circulating. We also care for our team by providing uniforms, plenty of water, and regular daily rest breaks to ensure everyone stays comfortable.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

When you join our team, you’ll work in a structured, specialized environment where everyone has a role and a team to support them. Depending on your expertise, you'll be placed in a department that best suits your skills. If you work at Quicklane, you’ll be part of a close-knit crew of 12 techs. You'll work alongside a lead and a dispatcher to keep things running smoothly. For those handling driveability, brakes, front-end work, and quick service, you’ll join a larger team of 22 technicians, plus a dispatcher and shop foreman who help coordinate workflow and keep everything moving efficiently. If you specialize in heavy-line, diesel, or transmission work, you’ll be part of our largest team—44 skilled techs, working alongside a dispatcher and shop foreman to tackle the big jobs that keep vehicles performing at their best. For those focused on reconditioning and pre-delivery inspections (PDI), a dedicated team of 25 techs works to ensure vehicles meet our high standards before they hit the road. No matter where you land, you’ll be surrounded by experienced professionals, a strong support system, and a team that thrives on collaboration.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

At Galpin, we know that work-life balance matters and offer various shift options to fit your schedule. In our Main Shop, you’ll work a steady 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM shift, with a rotating Saturday schedule—giving you consistent hours and time to recharge. We offer flexible full-time and part-time shifts if you’re interested in Recon or Pre-Delivery Inspections. The shop is open from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Friday, so that you can find the best schedule for you. In Quicklane/Lube, we offer both full-time and part-time options, with start times at 7:00 AM, 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM, or 9:00 AM and a closing time of 6 PM—giving you options to fit your lifestyle. No matter which department you join, you’ll be part of a team that supports each other, in a shop where your hard work is valued and rewarded. What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

If you’re an apprentice, helper, hourly, or lube tech, you’ll have full access to shop tools, and if you prefer, you can bring a small cart of personal tools to make your workspace your own. What type of break room facility is provided?

How many bays does your shop have?

We have over 100 service bays across all of our brands, making us one of the most expansive and capable service operations in the region. This allows us to efficiently accommodate a wide range of vehicles, reduce wait times, and ensure that each brand receives the specialized care it deserves. Whether you're bringing in a luxury vehicle or a daily driver, our state-of-the-art facilities and expert technicians are ready to serve you.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

We average over 5,000 repair orders per month across all of our brands. This volume reflects both the trust our customers place in us and the scale of our operations. With over 100 service bays and a team of highly trained technicians, we’re equipped to handle everything from routine maintenance to complex repairs—efficiently and with the highest standards of care. What is your parts ordering process?

We employ an electronic customer parts recommendation and ordering process to ensure speed, accuracy, and efficiency. Our service technicians submit parts requests digitally, enabling our parts department to review and fulfill orders with minimal delay. This streamlined system reduces downtime, ensures the correct parts are sourced promptly, and keeps repair orders progressing without interruption. This is all part of our commitment to providing fast, precise, and reliable service across all our brands.

What is your policy on side work?

We allow some side work, but it must be approved by your supervisor prior to starting. This ensures that outside work does not conflict with company policies or safety standards or interfere with your responsibilities here. Giving back and strengthening our community is a core part of our mission!

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Definitely! At Galpin we’re passionate about encouraging the next generation to enter the automotive profession. Through our partnership with Ford Motor Company, we proudly sponsor the ACE Program at two junior colleges and four high schools in Los Angeles, helping young students gain hands-on experience and industry knowledge.
