Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Air Conditioned and floor heating provide year-round climate controlled comfort for technicians.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

22-26 technicians- central dispatching

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Shop is open from 7am-6 pm M-F Shifts typically 7:55- 5 if work is caught up. Otherwise 6pm. Saturdays- 8-4 with lunch provided. (typically just one Saturday per month)

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Special Service Tools provided by factory, major shop equipment including battery testers, scan tools, etc. We have at least two of all major items to ensure productivity continues if one fails. State of the art & updated equipment. Brand new Hunter alignment Quick Check Machine on service drive assists in driving additional alignment sales.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Technician lounge features full size refrigerator, multiple microwaves, comfortable seating.

How many bays does your shop have?

24 technician stalls/lifts with built in Snap-On tool box workstations 4 additional lifts

How many repair orders do you average per month?

1700-1900

What is your parts ordering process?

Utilize Xtime Inspect to communicate with parts dept. Most SOP entered by 3pm will arrive the next morning. RO parts are pre-picked and ready as soon as RO is generated saving valuable time for the tech. Less time at parts counter!

What is your policy on side work?

Techs may work on their own vehicle (or immediate household family member) with current RO written. Must be done after hours unless otherwise discussed.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Yes, Lexus provides certification training. We reimburse technicians for passing ASE tests to earn or maintain their ASE certifications.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We have a pathway for entry level techs- they start in our Express Service group, then move on to our internal group, then Main Line

Can you describe your performance review process?

First 90 days, then annually.

What type of safety training is required?

Basic

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We would pair a new/younger tech with a Master tech to work together diagnosing and repairing vehicles

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We encourage and support various philanthropy efforts.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We have a long relationship with tech schools and are always interested in their recommendations for student employment. We also offer flexible work schedules for those still in school.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Not usually.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Discussion of qualifications, experience, expectations. We describe our shop policies/processes to ensure it's what the candidate is looking for.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Passing of a Drug & Background Screening is required, as is providing a copy of driving record and having an insurable drivers license.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

No

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Typically just a few days.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Typically the longest part of the process is waiting on the drug/background screening results which can vary, but usually the entire process is about 1.5 weeks.

A Level Technician Pay Range: $60,000.00 - $130,000.00/year

Depending on Training, Certifications, experience

Service Advisor Pay Range: $60,000.00 - $95,000.00/year

$4k monthly draw, Commission based.

Student Tech / Apprentice Pay Range: $15.00 - $17.00/hour

Collision Technician - A Level Pay Range: $50,000.00 - $150,000.00/year
