Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
The shop is heated and appropriate cold-weather gear is also provided. There is no air conditioning.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
8-10 people
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Shop hours are 7:30am to 4pm. Employees take two fifteen-minute breaks and a half hour (unpaid) for lunch. Opportunities for overtime are often available as are Saturday shift while the shop is closed to customers.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
The shop supplies all tools above 3/4 inch drive. Also, each mechanic is supplied with there own diagnostic laptop.
What type of break room facility is provided?
There is a small break room with a microwave and a full-sized refrigerator completely separate from the shop. A coffee maker and all the necessities are available for employees in the shop area.
How many bays does your shop have?
The shop has 7 bays.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
Our average repair order count per month is 100
What is your parts ordering process?
Parts orders are sent by the tech to our in-house parts guy.
What is your policy on side work?
With permission, employees are allowed to use the shop for side work provided they are not alone in the shop. Parts can be ordered through our vendors and paid for by employees at cost.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
We offer training through diesel laptops, which are available to all our techs.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
Every tech can advance at their own pace, we promote within.
Can you describe your performance review process?
Through our shop management software, each tech has a real-time indication of their tech efficiency. At the end of each month, we sit down for a quick performance review.
What type of safety training is required?

From the top down we encourage our techs to help and mentor new techs.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?

- Health Insurance Offered
- Medical insurance is provided for employees at no cost after 30 days of employment. Families can be added to medical benefits but the family portion is paid solely by the employee. Our current insurer is Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island with a $3000 deductible for individuals and $6000 for a family plan. The company also offers a 50/50 on the insurance deductible. Once you have paid the first half of your deductible, the company will cover the second half up to $1500 for individuals and $3000 for families.

- Retirement Plan Offered
- We offer a Fidelity SimpleIRA plan with a 3% company match. Employees are eligible after 30 days of employment.
- Sick Leave Offered
- Employees are given 3 paid sick days and 2 paid personal days. Time is not accrued nor is it redeemable for pay if unused. It resets the first of the calendar year.
- Vacation Offered
- New employees are given 1 week paid vacation their first year, 2 weeks their second year, and 3 weeks after 5 years. Time is not accrued nor is it redeemable for pay if unused. It resets the first of the calendar year.

- All State holidays are paid holidays with the day off. Juneteenth and Victory Day are used as floating holidays, meaning they will not be paid days off but there will be 2 other paid days off in their place during the year

- Uniforms are provided by the company. We ask that they remain on premises (as necessary) for proper laundering and accounting. Footwear is also provided yearly.
- Other Offered
- The Cornwell and SnapOn tool trucks visit the shop regularly. We encourage everyone to purchase the tools they need based on their skill level and will help advise to avoid expensive unnecessary purchases. Many tools are already provided or are available to borrow as needed. Often we offer financial assistance in purchasing expensive tools or tools we think you should have in your toolbox. Every Friday we have "free lunch Friday" and purchase lunch for the shop from a local establishment.
