Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Yes, our shop is climate controlled for the cold winter months along with the hot summer months. We also have 4 high speed shop doors that open and close swiftly to help maintain temperature and keep our technicians moving!

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Our Service Department has over 30 employees! From our dedicated quick lube writers to our shop dispatcher and trained technicians, we have a comprehensive team of skilled individuals.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Our shop is opens at 7:30 AM, Monday through Saturday. We have some technicians that start early in the morning and others that start later.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Our shop utilizes the latest from Hunter equipment; we have a wheel/tire balancer, alignment checkers and alignment rack. We have 30 in-ground hoists in addition to a 4-post mobile hoist that can lift up to 60,000 lbs. In the center of the shop, we have a component work area where items such as transmission lifts, battery chargers and grinders are located - all conveniently located for our team. Every technician has a dedicated computer and phone at their workstation.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a centralized employee breakroom. The breakroom features large commercial grade refrigerators, freezers, microwaves, ice/water machine and Keurig brand coffee machines with complimentary coffee for the team. There's also plenty of tables to spread out and enjoy some well deserved break time.

How many bays does your shop have?

Our shop has 32 bays under one roof.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

Our team of technicians currently process over 1,400 repair orders per month, with room to grow.

What is your parts ordering process?

We utilize a software system that allows our technicians to communicate to our parts department from their work bays. They can utilize chat and get parts ordered without leaving their bay.

What is your policy on side work?

All vehicles that are worked on in the shop require a repair order and to be processed through our service writers. This is done for both safety and insurance liability.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

Our shop featured dedicated "Property Detailers". The Property Detailers work hard to keep the shop floor clean from oil, spills, shop debris, etc. They work with technicians to dispose of scrap parts, garbage and keep work benches clean. We do this to promote not just technician efficiency, but also shop safety.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Yes, we also encourage our team members to receive their ASE certifications. We require Stellantis training as required by the OEM. All of this is paid for by the company.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Our shop is large and fast moving. We currently have a number of entry-level technicians that are working their way up as they complete not just their training, but earned experience with our A Level Technicians.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Performance of all technicians is reviewed regularly.

What type of safety training is required?

We require all of our technicians to follow both our internal safety protocols along with both State and Federal OSHA requirements.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We have a great team that works well together. We have an assistant program that allows our younger techs to partner with our A Level technicians. The idea is that this younger tech can work as an assistant while learning the trade, assist in getting vehicles, test driving, initial diagnosis, etc. All making the technician more efficient.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We are involved in a number of community events such as the Armada Fair, Good Old Days in Richmond along with Fishing Tournaments and our very own annual Buck Pole!

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Yes, we currently work with St. Clair Technical School to encourage students to be involved in technology and vehicle repair.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes, this gives us the opportunity to see if both the candidate and the dealership are looking to achieve similar goals. It saves both the candidate and our team time.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Our in-person interviews consist of a meeting with the Service Manager, along with a shop tour. Discussion includes the candidates history and skill set

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We do complete drug screening prior to hiring an applicant. The results of the tests are discussed with each candidate.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Our Service Manager, who was a long-time technician, reviews each candidates skills and training along with state certification.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Within 2-3 business days.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Within 7-10 business days depending on candidates availability for an interview.

A Level Technician Pay Range: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00/year

We pay competitively based on flat rate hours turned. Our current A Level Technicians have the ability to turn many hours with the availability of work we have in our shop.

B Level Technician Pay Range: $30,000.00 - $70,000.00/year

We pay competitively based on flat rate hours turned. Our current B Level Technicians have the ability to turn many hours with the availability of work we have in our shop.
