Heated with Big Ass fans for circulation, also have swamp coolers for cooling

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

20 - 25 technicians, 7 Advisors, 3 Express bays with an additional level 2 Express bays 2 express dedicated Advisors

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

7:00 - 6:00 Monday - Friday - flexible shifts 7:00 - 2:00 Saturday - Rotating Saturdays, currently every 4th.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

All specialty and diagnostic tools. Express lane has all tools provided.

What type of break room facility is provided?

New Break room and Locker room, were built during our recent addition to our shop.

How many bays does your shop have?

30 mainline, 5 express

How many repair orders do you average per month?

2500

What is your parts ordering process?

Our Parts Department orders required parts based on the job or customer's needs.

What is your policy on side work?

Side work may be done on a personal vehicle or those of your immediate family. With Management approval after hours.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

Energetic team with a fast-paced work environment with ample amount of work! Shop is busy year around, generally have 3-to-4-week backlog for appointments.

Intern program with Des Moines Area Community College and Technician Apprenticeship through Chryslers CAP program

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We are very involved in our community, we have quarterly events supporting schools, and other events.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Dewey's Recruiting Team is focused on outreach to tech schools and automotive programs as well as attending technician specific careers fairs and events.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

In five years, we will have continued to grow our customer base - increasing staffing will help us meet current demand and allow for increased business.

Yes, we have an application form on our Careers site: www.deweydodge.com It takes approximately 2-3 minutes to complete and can be done on mobile devices or desktops.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes, we do perform an initial 15-minute phone screen as part of the interview process.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

The hiring manager shares expectations and details about the role. The candidate and the hiring manager will review work and education experience. The interviewer will ask skill and ability questions. There will be an overview about the company, culture, and benefits. We make sure to cover the candidates career goals and aspirations. There will be time to ask any questions and discuss next steps.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Background check and drug screen are performed prior to hire. We do not test for THC

No skill assessment.

Typically, within about 48 hours.

5 to 7 days depending on how long the background check takes.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $70,000 - $175,000/year

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $50,000 - $70,000/year

Protech recognition program, ongoing paid training. We strive to get all our technicians trained up to a Level 3 tech within 2 years of hire date.

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $35,000 - $50,000/year

https://www.kengarff.com/pro-tech-iowa/ This is a Flat Rate position; this technician is a level 1 Chrysler tech and working towards level 2, Quite often this is an apprentice tech or someone with experience outside of Chrysler. Also qualifies for Protech as well as Tool bonus and production bonus. Red Wing boot program

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $31,000 - $37,000/year

This is an hourly position ranging in pay from $15.00 - $18.00 per hr. We have a goal of getting techs training up to level 1 within 1 year of hire date. Red Wing boot program
