Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The shop is heated and A/C. We also have BIG ASS fans to move some air!

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We currently have 28 certified technicians in our shop.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

The shop opens at 7am and closes at 9pm

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We provide all necessary special tools for technicians

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a states of the art break room with TV, with free ice cream!!

What is your parts ordering process?

Our parts department orders directly from the OEM

What is your policy on side work?

We allow technicians to work on their personal vehicles, as long as there is a Repair Order created and at a rate of $39.00 per hour.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We promote technicians to get there online training done and we will send them to Chrysler training.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

There are opportunities from starting as an entry level technician to grow from a D - Level to an A - Level tech through training, performance and practical application.

Can you describe your performance review process?

When you are hired there is a 30 day, 90 day, 6 month and annual. After your first year there are only annual performance reviews. Reviews are process through our Ultipro business management system. The team member is notified that they will have a self assessment of their performance. After that is complete and sent to management they review and complete their assessment and schedule a review with the team member.

What type of safety training is required?

We have our own in house training hub which has access to lift safety, eye protection training and more.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

The shop is very communal and everyone helps on another. If there is down time younger technicians will shadow more senior technicians. We assign apprentices to mentors in the shop to learn inspection process and technical training.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We aim to live up to the Asbury Automotive motto, to be "The most guest centric automotive retailer". In 2021, We raised over $170,000 for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) through the HBCU Change Program as well as $37,113 for Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Our CEO and Vice President of Corporate Development and Real Estate maintain oversight of our energy management approach.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Currently we are not working with any local programs

Where do you see the shop in five years?

Increased service department volume traffic count monthly. Competing for the top 3 positions in customer satisfaction in the district. Growing technicians annually from our quick lane department. Consistently growing the next generation of A, B, and C level technicians to foster a growth environment.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Yes we have a "official Asbury Automotive application that needs filled out. Typically takes about 20 mins to complete

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

We do both a phone interview and in person interview

What do your in-person interviews entail?

We will ask about your past experience, we will want to know your goals over the next few months and years look like for yourself.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Yes we do a background drug screening and Caliper personality test

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

We look for certifications.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

We will let you know within a few days after the interview and background check

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

The full hiring process can be as fast as a week or as long as 3 weeks. depending on how quickly the information is provided and processed from the applicant

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $80,000 - $150,000/year ($38.46 - $72.12/hr)

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $60,000 - $79,999/year ($28.85 - $38.46/hr)

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $40,000 - $59,999/year ($19.23 - $28.85/hr)

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $35,000 - $40,000/year ($16.83 - $19.23/hr)

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $80,000 - $160,000/year ($38.46 - $76.92/hr)
