What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

31- Techs 6- Service Advisors 1- Service Manager 1- Assistant Service Manager

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

7:00am-7:00pm (Monday-Friday) Techs are just required to work their 8-hours, 5 days a week, with a 1-hour lunch

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

All specialty equipment tools 100% of tools are provided in the Express department

What type of break room facility is provided?

Fridge, ice maker, coffee maker/espresso machine, table, chairs, TV

How many bays does your shop have?

44 bays

How many repair orders do you average per month?

We gauge by hours per month, we roughly average 1,600 hours per month

What is your parts ordering process?

We currently have 5 parts advisors that order all of our parts. Parts will be received as soon as possible for technicians to complete repairs

What is your policy on side work?

Based on approval. It has to be either immediate family, or personal vehicle. Two people must be present

Can you describe your performance review process?

Monthly quick one-on-ones. Just a quick check-in to see how things are going, and checking on goals. We also do yearly reviews. This is more of a performance review of the previous year

What type of safety training is required?

Quick chemical reviews, and where to access the information. This is apart of our onboarding process

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Our more experienced technicians will be available to answer questions, and work side-by-side with technicians when time permits

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We sponsor New Tech Skill Center. Our Service Manager is on the board. We also participate in meetings at Spokane Community College. We employee on average 5 students a year, and they can work their way into full-time positions when they graduate

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Not currently, but it is something were looking to get more involved with

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

We offer tech apprenticeships onsite. They have the ability to work with experienced techs for up to a year

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

If the tech is local we would rather bring them in. If they are not from the area we're able to accommodate and do phone screens

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Service Manager handles the in-person interviews. Discussion includes candidate's skill set, and career path

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We provide a drug screen, and a background check

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

No formal skill assessment. Skill assessment is done through the interview process. When a candidate starts there will be more assessments

Technician Pay Range: $60,000.00 - $180,000.00/year

Pay is based on technician's background, certifications, and skill set
