What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
CMA's Williamsburg Ford provides ALL specialty tools needed to support our technicians across Auto, Diesel and Collision. Techs are expected to have their own common tools.
What type of break room facility is provided?
A separate break room is available with TV, appliances and a cool, comfortable place to take a break!
How many bays does your shop have?

What is your parts ordering process?
CMA's Williamsburg Ford has a top notch parts team that efficiently and courteously supports our Technicians. We all win together!
What is your policy on side work?
CMA has a company wide policy regarding side work. You are allowed to work on your vehicle in the shop after hours. The vehicle must be on a Repair Order and previously approved by Management. Additional details available upon request and shared via the employee handbook.
Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?
At CMA's Williamsburg Ford, we learn together; grow together, and celebrate together! The FIRST FRIDAY of each month we cook out and celebrate the wins of the previous month! We celebrate anniversaries, milestones and promotions across the whole team - Sales, Service, Parts, Collision and all the Shops!

CMA's Williamsburg Ford is committed to lifelong learning! We offer support for Ford / ICAR certifications and encourage learning more about our industry and company as well - this is a pathway to advancement!

Can you describe your performance review process?
CMA (all 25 locations) will be rolling out a new performance review process in 2025. As details become available, I will update this post. For now, please know that we provide regular feedback for all associates as part of their growth opportunities.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
CMA's Williamsburg Ford is proud to have our Apprentice Technician Training Program! Certified & Master Techs that are interested in sharing their craft and helping the next generation are paired with an Apprentice Tech to help guide them through Ford's online training and work alongside them in the shop for on-the-job training.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
CMA supports many local community events, including school supply drives; bike & toy drives at holiday time; food drives throughout the year, as well as children's medical research for juvenile diabetes and cancer. CMA is committed to serving our associates, our customer,s and our community!
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
CMA's Williamsburg Ford is a Proud Partner of New Horizons Tech Center as well as several local high schools and community college programs! Our mission is to share the opportunity that automotive provides across multiple sources from elementary school to college and the military!
Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?
Many of CMA's current leaders started in entry-level positions and, with hard work and commitment to service, have become Service Managers, Directors, and even General Managers. Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
CMA's Williamsburg Ford has a dedicated Fixed Operations Talent Acquisition Specialist This role reviews every application that comes in, conducts a phone screen to determine culture fit and confirm experience, and then shares the candidate with the hiring manager.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
In-person interviews include a brief overview of CMA, including history and current plans for growth. We review the resume to confirm any questions regarding skills or training and learn what is most important to the candidate - what do they really want in their next position? It is important to us at CMA that we are as good a fit for the candidate as the candidate is for us!
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
CMA conducts background checks, drug screening, and there are other tests available at the discretion of the recruiter or hiring manager. We use these additional tests when there are multiple qualified applicants - these tests can include behavioral analysis or technical aptitude.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
During the in-person interview, the hiring manager will assess skill level and confirm certifications. If there are questions or multiple candidates, technical aptitude assessments may be used.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
CMA's Williamsburg Ford will advise a candidate when to expect a follow-up communication after the interview. Depending on the position and time of year, the timeline can vary. We are mindful of the stress in waiting and will get back to you as quickly as possible!
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
There is some variability here based on the type of role. For example, a Quick Lane Tech or other entry-level position can be as fast as a week to 10 days. Higher-level candidates may take longer due to additional testing, reference checks, and other factors.
Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?
At CMA we work with our internal recruiting team to keep in touch every step of the process. You are given timelines for follow-ups and always have someone to contact with questions. We offer multiple communication alternatives to suit your lifestyle and even have evening and Saturday interview times!
Multiple Roles - Mobile Helper, Collision Tech, Auto Tech & Diesel Tech
Pay Range: $15.00 - $42.00/hour
Mobile Service Tech (Helper) $15 - $16 per clock hour Experienced Auto Tech - based on skills and experience Experienced Diesel Tech - $36 - $42 per flat rate hour Experienced Collision Repair Tech - based on skill level and experience CMA's Williamsburg Ford is committed to fair and strong compensation for talent. For flat rate techs - including Collision Repair, they are eligible for a Technician Appreciation Bonus at the end of the year. For each hour turned, $1 is set aside and shared with them in Nov / Dec as a thank you for another year of service!

- We have six observed holidays each year. This means you will receive holiday pay, but it doesn’t mean that we will be closed that day. The general manager at each dealership will decide and communicate holiday hours that are appropriate for the needs of our customers and their individual market. If your dealership requires you to work, you will receive holiday pay in addition to your regular pay. Our paid holiday schedule is as follows: · New Year's Day (January 1) · Memorial Day (Last Monday in May) · Independence Day (July 4) · Labor Day (First Monday in September) · Thanksgiving Day (4th Thursday in November) · Christmas Day (December 25)
