Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
After the renovations, the shop will be equipped with new swamp air conditioning units. The existing heating system is a heat rail system, which effectively keeps the shop warm during the winter.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
Before expansion, our team consists of 6 technicians, 2 service advisors, 1 warranty administrator, and 1 service director.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
The shop operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Saturdays are scheduled on a rotating basis.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
We provide GM specialty tools for all technicians. Standard tools that are frequently used are typically the responsibility of each technician to own.
What type of break room facility is provided?
Our break room is located above the Parts Department and is equipped with vending machines and ample seating for staff.
How many bays does your shop have?
Currently, the shop has 7 stalls. After renovations, this will expand to 17 stalls. Each bay is equipped with 9,000 lb. lifts, with air supply attached to each one.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
We currently handle around 300 repair orders per month, with plans to increase this number after our expansion.
What is your parts ordering process?
Parts are ordered by our experienced parts team. Most parts come from the Denver warehouse, with next-day or 2-day delivery, depending on availability. We also source parts from other locations across the U.S.
What is your policy on side work?
We do not allow side work in the shop. Every vehicle must have a repair order (RO) before any work is done.
Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?
Our work environment is like a family. The team has built a strong rapport, and we pride ourselves on working well together to support one another.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
Yes. We will help our technicians work on obtaining ASE certifications and offer continuous education as well.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We encourage our technicians to move to the next level. Our technicians have opportunities to move up to a Master Level Technician and if they are interested in other positions (Service Advisor, Shop Foreman, etc.) we also encourage them to partner with their manager to discuss the steps to get them where they want to be.
Can you describe your performance review process?
Our shop foreman and service manager monitor daily work to ensure customer satisfaction.
What type of safety training is required?
Safety training is done on the 1st day of work during Orientation/Onboarding and on an annually basis
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
We have an internal mentorship program. As younger techs master their tasks and excel in their current role they are partner will a senior technician to help with big jobs.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
We are continuously partnering with organizations like the United Way, San Antonio Food Bank, and Haven for Hope.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
Yes we often visit schools sharing what a career as a technician can be and where the career path looks like.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Yes, our recruiting team will contact each candidate for a phone screen or virtual meeting.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
Interviews will take place with our Shop Foreman or Service Director. The meeting will be anywhere between 15-30 minutes and then each candidate would have opportunities to ask any questions they see fit.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
Yes, all candidates will have to complete a pre-employment screen after an offer prior to their start date. (Background, Driving Record, and Drug Screen)

- PERSONAL TIME OFF (PTO) PTO is accrued upon hire or transfers into a benefits eligible position and will be available for use after 90 days of full time employment. Accrual and payment of PTO All full time employees except commission-paid sales personnel accrue PTO at the rate of ½ day per month to a maximum accumulation of 5 days in their first calendar year of employment.

- PAID VACATION POLICY All full-time employees who have successfully completed their introductory period are eligible to qualify for vacation benefits. The length of vacation given to employees depends on their number of years of service and will be awarded on the employee’s anniversary date. The vacation benefits are as follows: • After 6 months of continuous service: 5 days of vacation benefits • After 1 year of continuous service: 10 days of vacation benefits • After 7 years of continuous service: 15 days of vacation benefits
