What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Business Hours: Monday through Friday 7:30am to 5:00pm. Shop Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30-4:00pm.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
Specialist diagnostic tools 3/4 Drive Sockets and wrenches above 1.5 inches
What type of break room facility is provided?
Kitchen area with refrigerator and standard appliances.
How many bays does your shop have?
14 bays
How many repair orders do you average per month?
Average 150-175 repair orders
What is your parts ordering process?
Tech looks up their own parts. Electronic from the tech to the parts department, or hand written requisitions. Parts department pulls parts for technician.
What is your policy on side work?
Side work is not allowed.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
Yes. Online Bobcat University and in-person instructor-led training in Denver, Colorado.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We promote from within, with a variety, and many, career growth opportunities. We have technician levels I, II, and III, that allow for growth, specifically as a Technician. There are opportunities to move from the shop out into the field, or into other departments and managerial roles.
Can you describe your performance review process?
Upon hiring, there is a 90 - day review. Following that, are yearly reviews. We take into account training and efficiency.
What type of safety training is required?
We have in-house training with our Project & Compliance Manager . Everyone hired goes through operator training on various types of machines that we operate.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
Co-op hires are paired up with our more experienced techs to learn the the skills of the trade.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
We are involved with various local Career and Tech schools, and frequently participate in event and activities with them. We also prioritize supporting many local business such as Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
We have contacts with local high schools, trade schools, and colleges, such as Great Oaks. We participate in various events with the schools and schedule trips to speak with students about the trade and career opportunities.
Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?
We are a family-owned company and value promoting from within.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Yes. The first step of our hiring process is a phone screen.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
In-person interviews are the second step after the phone screen. These interviews are typically held with the Branch Manager/and or Service Manager of the shop.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
We perform a background check, drug screen and physical.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
No, we do not.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
Typically, within one week of the interview, you can expect an offer to be made, or a rejection.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
Typically, no more than 2 weeks.
Shop/Field Service Technician
Pay Range: $0.00 - $35.00/hour
We start up to $35/hr. Pay will vary based on experience.
