What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

7:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday. Overtime is sometimes required.

Blanchard Machinery (BMC) has a toolroom that provides lifting, jacking, and cribbing equipment along with specialized tooling required for properly troubleshooting and repairing equipment.

There are 8 bays in the Simpsonville Main Shop.

One of our recruiters will conduct a phone screen. Discussion includes the candidate's background, certifications, career goals

Yes, Blanchard Machinery will conduct a background and drug screen on selected candidates.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Yes, technicians are given a safety profile test and a mechanical reasoning test prior to employment.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Within 7 days

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Initial screening is typically within 1-2 weeks of applying. Interview Invitation approximately 3 weeks after screening. Hiring decision is made approximately within 1-2 weeks following the interview.

All offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactorily passing our mandatory pre-employment process which will include a background check and drug screen.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $46.00 - $50.00/hour

The Expert Level Technician Program is designed for technicians who have completed both the Foundational and Advanced level training requirements. Having identified personal interests and goals with their supervisor, the Expert Level Technician may advance their career by choosing a different career pathway. Optional career pathways include Field Service, Leadman, Leadership and Operations Management, Technical Communications, Emerging Technologies, Training, Sales, etc. Each pathway provides tailored content and varies in duration. The specific training opportunities are to be identified in the technician’s annual performance review and communicated to the Training Department for proper assignment of the Learning Plan by his or her supervisor. Pay Structure: $2.00 per 75 hours of training.

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $30.00 - $43.50/hour

Advanced Level Technician: The Advanced-Skill Level Technician will bring the knowledge and skillset from having completed the Foundational Level Technician coursework pathway. Typically, this technician will have a minimum of three years of industry experience. Includes: Advanced Level 1, Advanced Level 2 and Advanced Level 3 Pay Structure: There are 403 total hours of training of E-learning, Instructor-Led, and Assessments training. For every 100 hours of training, the technician will receive an incremental wage increase. The adjustments will occur during quarterly manager check-ins. -Training Completion= $1.50 per 100 training hours complete ~The technician will be awarded $1.50 on the hour when they complete the remaining hours of training. -Assessment Completion = $.75: Each assessment that is successfully completed with a score of 80% or higher will result in a pay adjustment.

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $20.00 - $28.00/hour

Foundational Level Technician: This category serves as the foundation for all subsequent technician positions at Blanchard Machinery. Technicians who are newly hired and without previous work experience/certifications would be automatically placed in this tier with opportunities to advance, based on qualifications and education. Includes: Foundational Level 1, Foundational Level 2 and Foundational Level 3 Pay Structure: There are 715 total hours of training comprised of Online, Instructor-Led Training, hands-on Skills Assessments and Knowledge Assessments. For every 100 hours of training, the technician will receive an incremental wage increase. Each assessment that is successfully completed with a score of 80% or higher will result in a wage adjustment. The adjustments will occur during quarterly manager check-ins. • $1.00 per 100 training hours complete o For technicians enrolled in the Blanchard Apprenticeship Program (Blanchard Boost), the technician will receive an incremental wage increase at 205 hours and when they have completed the official Apprenticeship Program. All other levels will be based on 100 hours of training. • For Level 2 and 3 Technicians, $0.50 will be awarded to technicians who successfully complete the Knowledge Assessments at the end of Instructor-Led Training.

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $0.00 - $0.00/year

Based on qualifications and education.

Student Tech / Apprentice
Student technicians work on entry level tasks while completing their school programs.
Pay Range: $20.00 - $24.50/hour

Apprentices begin at $20.00.

Retirement Plan Offered
All employees age 18 and over are eligible to participate in the Employee Savings Plan on the first day of service. Employees that have completed one year of service and 1,000 hours with the company are eligible for the Company Match. In addition, the company may make a discretionary profit sharing contribution to the plan which the employee is eligible for after completion of one year of service and 1,000 hours with the company. The Employee Savings Plan is designed to give employees the opportunity to take advantage of Section 401(k) of the Internal Revenue Code. Under this law, you save money for retirement on a pretax basis, thereby realizing significant tax savings at the same time as you’re saving for the future. Company contributions are subject to a vesting schedule.

Blanchard Machinery will provide all regular full-time employees with Paid-Time-Off (PTO) each calendar year to use for time away from work. Eligible employees will be issued a specified amount of PTO upon their date of hire and each January 1st thereafter. PTO hours will be based on the employees anniversary date (year) as of January 1 each year. We recognize the following as paid holidays: New Year’s Day Memorial Day Fourth of July Labor Day Thanksgiving Day and Friday afterwards Christmas Day If a holiday falls on a Saturday, it will be observed on Friday. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, it will be observed on Monday. PTO is in addition to the Company’s holiday schedule.
