Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Yes, we have a Heated and Air-Conditioned Shop. Whether we have those hot and muggy summer days or frigid winter morning, we provide a very comfortable work environment.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

50 team members throughout the entire dealership.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Monday through Friday: 8:00am to 4:30pm Saturday: 7:00am to 3:00pm Sunday: Closed We have split crews that work Monday thru Friday and Tuesday Thru Saturday

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Hunter Tread Depth Checker and Alignment Checker in the service Drive Hunter Alignment Machine Hunter Tire Installer Hunter Tire Balancer Audi Scan tool - 1 per Tech All Audi Mandatory shop Tool requirements plus optional tools as well We spare no expense when tools are required to get the job done

What type of break room facility is provided?

Our spacious breakroom has multiple refrigerators as well as 3 microwaves and 3 toaster oven combo units.

How many bays does your shop have?

34 Bays in Total with 14 located in our main shop 20 additional bays at our offsite facility which is used for PDI work PLUS all Heavy work & major repairs EV work - Engine replacements

How many repair orders do you average per month?

Range from 900 to 1,100

What is your parts ordering process?

Stock Orders daily, order today and will receive from local PDC (NJ) following morning Priority "RED" order next day as well if part is available at any PDC within USA D2D - Dealer to Dealer orders available if in stock

What is your policy on side work?

Side work of any kind is not permitted. Shop availability for personal vehicles and immediate family members only with management authorization are permitted

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We are family owned and operated and treat our team as family. We provide lunch on Saturday for our team and BBQ on Fridays during the summer months. We will randomly surprise our staff with lunches and hold monthly raffles on Audi branded gear and swag for our team when exceptional services are provided and team objectives are achieved.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Audi Training required annually - 100% of our team is certified yearly We do not hold back those who are pro-active and seek to excel in the Audi Career paths from apprenticeship to the highest level of Master Guild

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Audi offers multiple levels of training career paths for employees to strive towards and, as a dealership, we encourage and support our staff in their career goals Apprentice Specialist Expert Master Master Guild

Can you describe your performance review process?

Once hired, management will do regular reviews for process and performance every 30 days through the probationary period. Once the probationary period is complete, reviews are every 6 months.

What type of safety training is required?

Annual safety and compliance training is required for all team members .

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Upon hire, a technician will work alongside a Master-Senior technician to learn dealer processes as well as the Audi Brand. Every week they will rotate to another Master Senior Technician to learn other perspectives. This will continue through the probationary period and beyond depending on technician level of experience.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We work with the local college, Suffolk Community, as well as NYADI The College of transportation technology.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Local Boces program and Wilson Tech

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes, any potential applicants are contacted via phone 1st for an interview before any in-person interviews are scheduled

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Once a potential candidate has gone through a phone interview, they could be invited for an in-person interview. An additional 2nd in-person interview with a shop foreman or General Manager will be held before any potential employee is hired.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Before hiring, we will check references and social media but we do not do drug screening at this time.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

No, we do not.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

If it turns out after the 1st in person interview the candidate is not a good fit for our team, they will be made aware immediately.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

The full hiring process can range anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks

Shop Talk

WrenchWay & ASE created an online technician pay tool to give a more accurate picture of the earning potential of technicians. This is used to help attract young people to the industry. Please comment on what technicians at your shop can earn.

Our apprentice technicians will earn hourly wage of $20.00 per hour to start as they mentor with master certified Audi technicians. Upon the 90-day employment mark they will then be given access to the manufacturer training portal. From that point they will be given progress reviews every 6 months along with hourly wage increases based on merit -progress, attendance, investments in tools. Upon completion of all the required training and the apprenticeship program on the 29 month of employment technicians will be considered "C" technicians with a current pay scale of $28.35 per hour as of 9/1/2024 - 9/1/2025. The progress to other wages, technician skill levels is based on the individual where they can advance to B - A -Master - or Master Guild levels within the brand.
