Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The shop is both heated and air conditioned.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Currently there are 35 technicians in total. There are 4 teams with 5-8 techs on each team.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

The shop hours are 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. We offer a variety of schedules to suit each individual. Our two main Schedules are a 4 day rotation, working 4 10 hour shifts and a Monday through Friday with every third Saturday. Send an inquiry with any questions regarding the schedule.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

The shop provides a tool box, roll cart, and work bench. A laptop(scan tool) is provided to each individual. The tech must provide their own tools. All tool boxes, roll carts, and benches are the same. This creates uniformity and is visually key to cleanliness.

What type of break room facility is provided?

There is a large indoor break area that has plenty of room for all technicians staffed. A fridge, microwave, toaster oven, vending machine, and TV are in the break room.

How many bays does your shop have?

The shop currently has 19 bays and one alignment rack. We will be expanding soon to increase our capacity.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

1200 per month

What is your parts ordering process?

Parts quotes and request are sent electronically so there is no waiting. The technician can move onto the next vehicle and increase their efficiency.

What is your policy on side work?

Side work is not permitted. Working on your personal vehicle is permitted if the title shows it is in your name.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

The work environment that has been created in this shop is unique in it's own. Everyone understands that we are all here to make a living and is willing to help their fellow team mate. An open learning mind is key to continued growth within in ourselves as well as others.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

For those that have entered into the field for the first time, entering the brand for the first time, or new to the Hendrick family we offer a 90 day apprentice program. This will allow the technician to hone their skills to be successful. We send techs to Audi training frequently. We pay for the State inspection courses and ASE testing. training is essential to the growth of the technical career.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

There are many opportunities for growth with not only in the dealership but Hendrick as a whole. If your goal is to reach a certain level in your career then we are here to guide you and facilitate your aspirations.

Can you describe your performance review process?

There is a yearly review completed with multiple levels of leadership to ensure we all have the same goals in mind.

What type of safety training is required?

There are multiple levels of safety training required both online and in person.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

An appointed tech will mentor another tech in their journey. Everyone helps everyone and it creates a community allowing all grow from the experience. A constant mentorship never truly ends as we all learn something new everyday. A typical monitored mentorship will be 90 days and an evaluation will be completed after that 90 days.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Our shop participates in a vary large variety of charities and gatherings. With the large Hendrick family of dealerships we can make a huge impact in the Communities. The dealership also participates in the Audi club and host the Treffen event.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We host a student night where students can come into the dealer and meet with other techs. This allows for a direct face to face conversation with current employees for the most real world information.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

There are a multitude of opportunities for both individual career development and community involvement. Choosing what creates a spark in your interest is just the first step and we can help with the rest.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes, a phone call is one of the first steps in making contact and creating a relationship with a possible candidate.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Reviewing their resume, asking about personal experience, and taking a tour of the facility.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We perform background checks, drug screening, and an MBS (management by strength) survey.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

There is no hands on skill test.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Technician Pay Range: $17.00 - $48.00/hour

The pay reflects certification level and years experience with the brand.
