Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
Yes, the shop is equipped with both heating and air conditioning.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
Currently, we have 32 employees working across the two brands in the shop.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
The shop is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We are closed on Sundays.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
We provide all special tools required for Audi and Volkswagen, as well as eight diagnostic scan tools.
What type of break room facility is provided?
The break room is equipped with a sink, microwave, and refrigerator.
How many bays does your shop have?
Our shop has a total of 28 bays.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
We complete approximately 1,100 repair orders per month in total.
What is your parts ordering process?
We use Quik Video to provide digital parts and accessories (P&A) estimates and multi-point inspections to our customers. We also communicate with the parts department for ordering and related processes.
What is your policy on side work?
Side work is not allowed.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
Yes, we offer paid training at the official training facilities for Audi and Volkswagen. Additionally, we provide online training and continuing education opportunities.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We are a growing, family-owned dealership group that offers clear career paths. Opportunities for advancement include progressing from a lube technician to a service manager position.
Can you describe your performance review process?
We conduct yearly goal-setting and performance reviews. Additionally, we hold weekly meetings to discuss emerging issues with employees.
What type of safety training is required?
Work experience and/or technical school experience is preferred. Safety training is incorporated into our onboarding and ongoing training processes.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
Our master-level technicians mentor and apprentice younger, up-and-coming technicians, providing hands-on guidance and support.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
We actively participate in community outreach through our Kind Fund, where we receive names from local schools of children in need and shop for clothes, school supplies, and other essentials. We are also involved with the Young Caring for Our Young foundation.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
Yes, we maintain a strong presence in high schools across Davis and Weber counties. We host quarterly events at these schools, as well as at local technical colleges, to encourage students to pursue careers in the automotive industry.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Yes, we typically begin the hiring process with a phone interview.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
In-person interviews are conducted with the service manager and the shop foreman.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
Yes, we perform background checks and drug screenings. We do not conduct personality tests at this time.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
No, we do not conduct skill assessments at this time.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
Applicants can expect to receive a hiring decision within approximately one week after the in-person interview.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
The entire hiring process typically takes about two weeks from the time the application is submitted to the final hiring decision.
Technician
Pay Range: $40,000.00 - $110,000.00/year
