Truck Repair Technician
essential functions:
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair of TICO and competitor spotter trucks
- Perform a wide variety of repairs and maintenance on various makes and models of trucks
- Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all components
- Positively interface with Service Writers, leadership team, the parts department, drivers, vendors, and customers
- Keep paper work updated and submitted upon completion
- Communicate effectively with customers
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness
- Meet and maintain labor efficiency goals
- Meet requirements for certifications
- Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures.
- Maintain inventory of mechanical tools needed to perform the work for which the technician is trained and qualified that are not typically inventoried by the service department as "Special Services Tools."
- Assist the dealership in its efforts to achieve high-level customer satisfaction through proper repair procedures, attitudes, and communication.
- Ensure customer's vehicle is returned as clean as it was prior to being serviced or repaired.
- Actively participate in the Manufacture's Technician Certification Program and continue to earn and maintain Master Technician status.
- Provide complete and accurate written explanation on the repair order to describe the work that was performed.
- Punch on and off every repair order to reflect the amount of time spent on the job.
- Comply with the dealership's policy for establishing flat rate time for all repair work and maintenance services.
- Complete warranty repair orders and other tasks assigned by management
- Communicate with other dealerships personnel as required to satisfy customer's needs.
- Report any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its employees, or customers.
COMPANY-WIDE EXPECTATIONS:

knowledge, education and/or experience:
- Requires a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Diesel engine experience
- Truck repair experience
- Technical degree or certification is a plus

- Work with diagnostic computers for troubleshooting and repairs
- Use computers for web-based training and work order system
- Work independently in a field service environment while displaying a professional and confident relationship with the customer

- Exposure to varying weather-related temperatures (both inside and outside)
