Fleet Maintenance Manager

Primary function of this position is to oversee the daily activities of the Maintenance Department. The Fleet Maintenance Manager is responsible to take ownership of the operation and goals of a local Benore Maintenance facility. The position requires professional communications, computer and presentation skills. Position represents the company in a positive image with employees, customers and the community always performing in a safe and ethical manner.

  • First line supervision of Equipment Coordinators and Mechanics
  • Responsible to ensure that Equipment Coordinators daily tasks are accomplished in a timely manner, as such the Fleet Maintenance Manager shares all the essential duties and responsibilities of an Equipment Coordinator
  • Works collaboratively with Operations and shop personnel to minimize impact of maintenance operations and maximize equipment availability
  • Responsible to ensure that scheduled maintenance and repairs are performed on all Benore equipment in a timely manner, ensures that an accurate, professional service record for each asset is properly maintained and easily accessible for any internal or external audits
  • Required to maintain records of asset assignments and locate assets as needed
  • Ensures all required forms and documents are completed in a timely manner
  • Ensures all DOT required records are maintained and accessible including eDVIR’s, repair documentation, annual inspections, etc
  • Responsible for the safe keeping of assets when not in use
  • Assist in Accident Investigations of assigned equipment and coordinates with the Operations Manager or Designee and the Director of Safety to ensure Accident Investigations are in compliance with DOT Regulations and Benore company policies
  • Follows all workplace processes and standards in support of the ISO-9001 Quality certification program
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements


Associates degree preferred and five to seven years experience in management; Bachelor Degree in management, transportation or a related field is highly desireable. Five years experience in management and 10 years in mechanical/maintenance field required. Experience in at least two of the following areas is required: dispatch, Class 8 fleet maintenance, CDL Driving, and/or transportation safety.
