Position: Truck Technician - Heavy Duty Shop

Location: Ronkonkoma, NY

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Responsibilities:

- Perform diagnostic tests on trucks, utilizing specialized tools and equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues

- Conduct routine maintenance and service tasks on trucks and trailers including PM Services, brake replacements, light repairs, liftgate repairs, etc.  

- Troubleshoot and repair various systems, such as engines, transmissions, air brakes, AC, electrical systems, and fuel and emission systems (including DPF)

- Keep detailed records of all completed repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used utilizing digital work orders and digital inspection sheets.

-Prepare detailed and accurate parts lists for the purpose of estimating and ordering parts.

-Mentor C Technicians.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following best practices for safety and cleanliness

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Truck Technician in a fast-paced truck - fleet or heavy-duty shop environment

- Strong knowledge of truck mechanics, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and fuel systems

- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to efficiently identify and resolve complex mechanical issues.

- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, equipment, and computerized systems for truck repair and maintenance (JPRO, Cummins InSite, Diamond Logic, TEXA, IDSS, IDS, WABCO, ProDemand, and more.)

- Solid understanding of DOT criteria.

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and wiring schematics

- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines

- Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality workmanship

- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (CDL A or B)
