Master Tech

Heartland Auto Repair is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Technician to join our dedicated team. As a Master Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional automotive service and repairs, leading diagnostic efforts, and mentoring less experienced technicians. This position requires extensive technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Diagnostics and Repairs: Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and more. Use advanced diagnostic equipment and tools to accurately identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support. Share your expertise to help develop the skills and knowledge of junior and mid-level technicians.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Communicate effectively with customers to explain diagnostic findings, recommended repairs, and maintenance procedures. Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality workmanship and service.
  • Maintenance and Inspections: Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety. Stay current with manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and advancements. Participate in ongoing training and certifications through programs like Auto Tech and NAPA AutoCare.
  • Shop Operations: Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workshop environment. Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly used and maintained.

Qualifications

  • Certification: ASE Master Technician certification or equivalent experience in automotive repair and diagnostics.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an automotive technician, with demonstrated expertise in advanced diagnostics and repairs.
  • Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and train other technicians. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of automotive systems and components. Familiarity with both domestic and imported vehicles.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various positions.
