B LEVEL TECHNICIAN
A B-Level Technician has mastered most vehicle systems and is able to accurately diagnose and repair them. B-Level techs have previously worked as C-Level techs in other repair shops.
A B-Level tech is expected to:
- Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnose cause of most malfunctions and performs repair.
- Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Examine and road test assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Communicate with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
- Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
- Supervise work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
