Twenty years ago after I finished a automotive technology certificate program I started at a Ford dealership with an apprentice program. I worked hourly in a bay next to an experienced technician who showed me the processes for the first couple weeks. He looked over my work and was available to help in diagnosis and any process issues I had after that until my productivity reached a level where I was able to confidently go flat rate. Young technicians need mentors in the shop.

Some of the video from the intro collision program car race. The car are made from scrap metal off of wrecked car parts. They must be know bigger than 4" wide and 12" long. The Track is 4x24 feet and made by the students.
