This past weekend I had an interesting conversation with a younger technician at a family party that is a friend of the family.
View full postOur shop attracts anyone who likes the auto repair industry! If they happen to be a woman, that is great! The more women in our industry the better! The balance helps keep things professional and equal. It is important for our customer base to have women in the shop also. Piper is our latest hire and she does many tasks throughout the day. Customers really appreciate her giving them rides to and from the shop. It works out really well.

Being a dealer in Minnesota, February is always a little rough. We got a decent amount of snow and our shop had a slower month, so our highlight from February is that it's over! We're incredibly proud of our team for showing up everyday ready to face any and all challenges a Minnesota winter brings.

We had a super cool visitor from Holland today! This beautiful California Camper diesel all-wheel drive bus is on Holiday and exploring all the beauty of OR! A quick oil change and she is back on the road. Sadly these are only sold in Europe.

I like to think that our team values work ethic, willingness to learn, dedication, and ambition. With that being said the gender of an employee doesn’t cross their minds when working with, interviewing, or hiring anyone that gives what is expected here at master fleet. Naomi is in one of our most crucial positions here, she is a very talented and ambitious woman that directs our mobile team and is a front-line service advisor who has helped us become one the best shops in our area.

A few things to highlight for the month of February would be a safe month no accidents or injuries in the face of some harsh winter weather. We were also able to add a couple of new techs to our team to help us drive towards our quarterly goals.

My name is Roy Ordway, husband and father of three boys. I am a Master Diagnostic Technician with 21 years of employment at Town Toyota. I have mentored many over the years and am currently mentoring our second female technician. I take a lot of pride in what I do and try to pass this pride of work on to the younger generation of techs. As I grow older I find that I really enjoy the teaching side. I feel it gives new purpose to the position.

It was a short month but a good month! Yahir, one of our Honda express technicians, started his mentorship program with Louis, one of our main line technicians. Louis works fast and produces a lot of hours for the shop, so Yahir is trying to keep up with him :-) Congrats, Yahir!
