Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
The shop and main office are both heated. The main office/break area is air conditioned, the shop is not.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
We currently have 7 technicians you will be working with, as well as an Ops Coordinator, a Service Writer, and a Parts Specialist.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Our shop is open from 7AM to 5PM. We are currently looking for 1st shift (8AM - 5PM) and 2nd shift (12PM - 10PM)
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
Diagnostic Scan tools and some heavy truck-specific tools, as well as service trucks.
What type of break room facility is provided?
We have a break area and a kitchenette located in our main office at the shop with a refrigerator, sink, microwave, and coffee machine.
How many bays does your shop have?
Our Indianapolis location has 4 bays.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
Our Indianapolis location averages around 300+ repair orders per month.
What is your parts ordering process?
During Business Hours - Technicians communicate with the Operations Coordinator and Parts Specialist on what parts are needed for the service. The Parts Specialist handles the purchasing of all parts and notifies the technician once the part has been received. After Hours - If a part is not readily available on the service truck, the technician can use their company card at any of our vendors that has the part available to complete the service. The Parts Specialist will handle receiving any parts purchased and used the following day.
What is your policy on side work?
Any side work for road warrior customers or vendors is prohibited. Any use of the provided company truck outside of business hours is also prohibited.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
We offer certification for Hi-Rail/Crane trucks, forklift certification, and ASE certification.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We have many different opportunities for career growth here at Road Warrior. In the past, we have had service advisor's work their way into management positions as well as other roles growing into higher leveled positions. As our company continues to grow, our employee's careers grow as well!
Can you describe your performance review process?
All employees receive a performance review after their three month probationary period. Every employee is then given a yearly performance review by their direct supervisor/manager.
What type of safety training is required?
Fire, Heavy Machinery Operation, Driving, Ladder, Hazardous Chemicals.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
Our seasoned technicians welcome all new technicians with open arms regardless of their skillset. Our technicians are no strangers to training younger techs and enjoy showing any new technicians what it takes to be a Road Warrior!
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
We are not involved with the local community at this time.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
Road Warrior attends the Lincoln Tech job fair bi-yearly.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
We do not phone screen applicants before doing an in-person interview.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
Our in-person interviews entail describing the position being interviewed for as well as a series of questions that cover all basic requirements and expectations for the position. We answer any questions the candidate may have about the role or company and make sure they leave completely informed. We also explain our hiring process and give a timeframe as to when they will be hearing from us for the next steps in the process.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
We complete a motor vehicle report check, a background check, a drug screen, and a personality/skills assessment before hiring any candidate.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
We perform a personality/skills assessment before hiring an applicant. This entails a cognitive, motivation, and personality assessment.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
You should expect to hear from us about the next steps in the process within 2-3 business days after the interview was held.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
We strive to take no longer than two weeks to make a hiring decision after submitting an application, if not less. This is contingent upon completing the pre-hire assessment and scheduling as these times may vary in the process.
Field Service Technician
Pay Range: $30.00 - $45.00/year
Overtime pay at 1.5 times base rate after 40 hours/week worked Bonus pay based on shop performance
Service Advisor
Pay Range: $20.00 - $30.00/hour
Overtime pay at 1.5 times base rate after 40 hours/week worked Bonus pay based on shop performance
