Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The shop is heated but not air conditioned. We do have air conditioning in the office and break room area.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We are currently a team of 4.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We provide diagnostic equipment, tablets and laptops as well as specialty tools required for certain jobs.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a break room behind the office that includes a table, chairs, refrigerator, microwave, air fryer and toaster oven along with disposable plates and utensils.

How many bays does your shop have?

5 bays

How many repair orders do you average per month?

We average 40 per month

What is your parts ordering process?

Currently our service advisor or one of the owners handles the parts ordering process for keeping stock as well as for individual jobs.

What is your policy on side work?

None allowed

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We believe that everyone should be provided the opportunity for growth if they choose. We have sent several of our technicians out for specific training on RV repair as well generator repair.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Our business has consistently been growing at a rate of about 20% per year and we are currently in the process of becoming a service warranty dealership for Cummins Onan, Forest River, Spartan and Liquid Springs.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We currently provide a 90 day review after hire and then an annual verbal review that includes efficiency reports as well as customer feedback.

What type of safety training is required?

In house safety training

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Our team is very much a family. We all work together and support each other all the time to make sure that we provide the best customer service as well as opportunities for everyone to learn as they go on a daily basis.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Tech schools and local high schools are really important to us so we are always looking to do what we can to support them.

Yes

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Our in-person interviews tend to be a typical interview conversation along with a tour of the facility and a chance to meet and talk to the other techs in the shop one-on-one to get a better idea of what it is like to work here.

Yes

No formal skill assessment. Assessment is done through the interview process

A Level Technician Pay Range: $35.65 - $67.50/hour

Our pay is based on a modified flat rate in which the technician is paid a percentage of the labor amount billed to a customer based on their certifications and background. The difference with our pay is that there is a minimum that is paid no matter what because we understand that people have off days or things come up.

B Level Technician Pay Range: $31.25 - $52.50/hour

Our pay is based on a modified flat rate in which the technician is paid a percentage of the labor amount billed to a customer based on their certifications and background. The difference with our pay is that there is a minimum that is paid no matter what because we understand that people have off days or things come up.
