Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Our shop is heated and has tempered air in the summer, which drops the temperature and humidity of the shop compared to outside conditions.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We have a technician staff of 10 and a total service team size of 21.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Our service department is open from 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday and 9:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday. During the week, our technicians typically work about 9 hours inside of those business hours; Saturdays are one 8 hour shift.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Technicians supply their own hand tools, common to the automotive industry. We supply the required special tools, ranging from special sockets and wrenches up to large assemblies for supporting drivetrains in addition to common shop equipment.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a lunch room with a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, water cooler, and television.

How many bays does your shop have?

We have 11 hoists and 1 alignment rack.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

We average 475 orders per month.

What is your parts ordering process?

Current nationwide shipping delays aside, we have daily stock and overnight parts orders.

What is your policy on side work?

We do not allow side work to be done on site as it is an insurance issue.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

This is a clean shop, with close-knit group of people who are surrounded by new and classic Porsches every day.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Shop pays for completed and passed ASEs. Shop pays for MFG training both on site and off premise including : Travel, Lodging, Food, and time at class.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Can you describe your performance review process?

Performance Reviews are each done at service manager's discretion.

What type of safety training is required?

Monthly safety meetings. On-line safety training at hire. Safety committee on site.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Our senior technicians are afforded the opportunity to mentor new and upcoming techs.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

All Lithia stores are very involved in community events. Lithia Motors Inc. has great national community involvement including Lithia 4 Kids.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Our local stores and national recruiters are very involved with local High School vocational programs . Lithia Motors Inc. is a preferred employer at all national vocational schools.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Applicants are phone screened by a recruiter and then an in person or phone interview is scheduled with the service manager.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

One on one question and answer with the service manager and shop foreman if available.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Assessments may be conducted prior to offer. Background, MVR and Drug Screens are conducted after offer and with hire being contingent to outcome.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

There are some assessments that are performed on line.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

We try to keep in contact with our candidates and a rejection or offer is usually made within a week.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Depending on the number of applicants it usually takes less than a week.

Journeyperson Technician (A,B,C Levels) Pay Range: $60,000.00 - $120,000.00/year

Paid on flat rate hours and will be paid retro to the 1st hour based on total hours booked.

Service Advisor Pay Range: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00/year

Service Advisor are paid a salary plus commission based on personal and department production.
