60,000 square foot climate controlled shop with an enclosed climate controlled service drive

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

18 - 25 technicians 3 service advisors

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Monday thru Friday 7:30am - 5pm. Saturday 8am - 3pm. Closed on Sundays and all major holidays.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Diagnostic tools and all manufacturer required specialty tools

What type of break room facility is provided?

Technician locker, bathroom, and break room in the shop.

How many bays does your shop have?

40 with room for more

How many repair orders do you average per month?

350 - 450 customer pay an additional 100-150 internal

What is your parts ordering process?

Staffed back counter with instant messaging available. Staffed for each manufacturer that we service.

What is your policy on side work?

No side work

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

The building is the largest in the Pacific Northwest. 110,000 square foot facility servicing Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Ram, Lincoln and Ford. We also have the Chevrolet/GMC franchise down the street. This is a family owned and operated Auto Group servicing customers in Southwest Idaho and Eastern Oregon. State of the art facility, serving a growing community. Excellent environment to live and work in.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Yes. We encourage all technicians to take all manufacturer training and cross train for each manufacturer.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Most of the management has been promoted from within, we are always looking to promote our own first and foremost.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Monthly, quarterly and annual reviews to help track performance and expectations.

What type of safety training is required?

In store safety training done by the dealership and a third party company.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Our factory Master technicians mentor the newer technicians and help extensively with diagnostics and repair.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Auto Ranch Foundation The Auto Ranch Foundation, Inc. (the Foundation) is dedicated to helping youth in the rural communities of Southwest Idaho and Eastern Oregon to attend a post-secondary institution and to succeed in furthering their education. The Auto Ranch Group is the premier sponsor for District 2 High School rodeo. The Auto Ranch Group is heavily involved in the youth 4-H and FFA programs, as well as sponsoring our own local rodeo. Several staff are involved in the Military Affairs Committe as we are also an Air Forde based community.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We are involved with the local high school

Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?

We encourage all employees to become involved in community events of their choice with full backing from the organization.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

If the applicant lives out of the area, yes.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Have a personal meeting with the Service Manager and Fixed Operations Director, with a follow up/final interview with the Vice President of Dealership Operations. Discussion includes the techs background, skill set, and career path

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Yes

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Yes. We will look at all past employment for an overview of general skills, and also assess any specific manufacturer or ASE certifications.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

2 - 3 days or sooner.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

The hiring process is very streamline with very few people involved for maximum efficiency.

Certified Technician Pay Range: $30,000.00 - $120,000.00/year ($14.42 - $57.69/hr)

We will pay for top talent. We also have the room and skills to help technicians grow and succeed. Techs pay will be based on their background, certifications, and skill set
