The office where the service advisor is working has central heat and air conditioning. The service advisor is in control of the thermostat in the office. The shop is equipped with overhead infrared gas heaters. We keep it quiet warm in the winter. During the summer, each technician will have their own portable evaporator cooling unit to use.

We like to keep two people working in the office to help customers, answer phones and manage parts. Ideally three to four people are working in the shop. From A technicians to clean up and shop maintenance people.

MWAC is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

MWAC offers paid training through multiple groups and associations. Such as MWAC, ASE, TechNet, Certified Auto Repair, VISON Expo. AVI, and AE Tools to name a few.

MWAC reviews the performance of the Service Advisor and all levels of Technicians weekly, monthly, and annually. We review car count, hours per repair order, dollars per repair order, vehicles worked on per week/day etc.

What type of safety training is required?

We like our technicians to have lift certification through ALI (Automotive Lift Institute), hazard material knowledge, and location of safety, medical and fire equipment at the facility.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We like to see experienced techs teach/guide apprentice technicians. Lead technicians will give apprentice techs tasks during the repair process. Cleaning and organizing parts is also useful in helping the senior tech and teaching the apprentice proper procedure and nomenclature.
