Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Our shop is not heated or air conditioned, but when it is cold we have diesel powered heaters.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We currently have 3 Service advisors, 4 technicians, and 3 tire shop techs.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

We are open Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We closed for most major holidays.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We have a large variety of specialty tools and kits that are available to all technicians and are not against buying any specialty tools that the shop as a whole can benefit from. We also provide 4 scan tools that are shared among the technicians.

What is your parts ordering process?

Our service advisors handle the intake of vehicles, ordering of parts and communication with customers.

What is your policy on side work?

Side work is fine as long as it is off the clock. We even allow employees to come in on the weekends if need be as long as we are told before hand.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We will pay for any certifications or training that a tech shows interest in as long as it will help them to become a better and more proficient technician.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

If a technician wants to learn more skills in order to move up to higher pay we whole heartedly encourage that.

Can you describe your performance review process?

The General Manager keeps an eye on all of the technician's performances and if he notices anything that he believes to be an issue he will address it.

What type of safety training is required?

No safety certifications required.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

All of our techs are willing to answer questions that any less experienced tech may have. They can also help through repairs if time permits

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We are involved with sponsoring the local high school sporting activities. Our owner is also involved in the local Rotary club.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We do not have any local high schools with automotive classes.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

We always strive to grow and maintain the quality of work that people have come to know from Meads.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

We do have a paper application that asks some general information that takes 5-10 minutes to fill out.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Generally. Yes.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

You will come in and sit with the Owner and General Manager and allow them to get a good feel of your skillset and attitude.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

No we do not.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

No we do not.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Depends on job availability and the impression that is made in the in person interview.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Based on need of the position.

A Level Technician Pay Range: $72,000.00 - $110,000.00/year ($34.62 - $52.88/hr)

Able to perform all duties of a B level technician as well as well versed in electrical diagnosis and A/C Repair.

B Level Technician Pay Range: $55,000.00 - $90,000.00/year ($26.44 - $43.27/hr)

Undercar repairs including suspension issues and diagnosing drivability issues including wheel bearings and drive shaft issues. Diagnosing and repairing oil leaks. Diagnosing and repairing brake issues mechanical and hydraulic.
