What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
We currently have 2 Advisors, a parts staff of 2, 2 lube techs, 2 apprentices, 1 C-level tech, one Master tech, and 1 Senior Master Tech.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Shop hours are 7-6 M-F and Saturday 8-12
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
Shop tools include diagnostic equipment, AC machines, flush machines, alignment racks and machines, transmission jacks, and Ford special tools.
What type of break room facility is provided?
Air-conditioned break room for lunch. Room includes fridge, table, chairs, microwave, and coffee maker
How many bays does your shop have?
We have 14 stalls in total
How many repair orders do you average per month?
450
What is your parts ordering process?
Tech orders parts with the parts counterperson. Parts will be received as soon as possible for technicians to complete repairs
What is your policy on side work?
No side work in the shop
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
We're always pushing Ford Factory training. The goal is to train every tech as far as they are willing to go.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
Career growth at this store is based on how much work the individual wants to put forth. If you want to be a Master Tech with Ford, we will train you to get there. We're here to see all of our techs achieve their career goals
Can you describe your performance review process?
Performance reviews are completed after 90 days of hire, then annually.
What type of safety training is required?
OSHA Safety Training is provided and is mandatory.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
We have excellent Senior techs that work with and mentor younger techs to help further their career and knowledge base. They will be available for questions and work side by side when time permits
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
Landers Ford North is very active in and around our community.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
Yes we do work with TCAT in this area to encourage young people to join this profession
Where do you see the shop in five years?
In five years from now, this current facility will have to be added to or rebuilt bigger for the additional space it will require to service the customers and Fleet business that is being added now.
Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?
We have an application and it normally takes approximately 40 minutes to fill out properly
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
No. We would prefer to do in-person interviews
What do your in-person interviews entail?
Basic work history questions. Getting to know the candidate and their likes and dislikes. We also give a shop tour if that's something their interested in
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
We do perform back ground checks and drug screening on every prospective hire.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
No formal skill assessment. Assessment is done through the interview process
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
2-3 days
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

Lube Technician
Pay Range: $14.00 - $17.00/hour
Hourly pay based on experience
C Level Technician
Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00/hour
Flat rate pay structure based on the employee's background, certifications, and skill set
Service Advisor
Pay Range: $30,000.00 - $70,000.00/year
Combination of salary and commission
Student Tech / Apprentice
Pay Range: $14.00 - $17.00/hour
