Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
Yes, the shop is heated. We do have fans and individual swamp coolers for the warmer weather.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
We have a handful of automotive technicians and two general service technicians to assist with routine maintenance.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
The shop is open from 7 AM to 6 PM.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
L&L Automotive provides A Snap-On scanner, computers at all workstations (at the technician's toolbox), various flush machines, various specialty tools for complicated jobs, pro demand and mechanicnet, and an alignment machine.
What type of break room facility is provided?
We have an indoor seating area for all employees to enjoy.
How many bays does your shop have?
12 service bays with lifts and two flat bays. (Two drive-on racks, one for alignments)
How many repair orders do you average per month?
300ish
What is your parts ordering process?
Almost everything is ordered electronically to eliminate human error by the parts supplier.
What is your policy on side work?
We do not allow side work to be done during business hours. We do not allow side work to done on L&L Automotive's premises at any time.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
We pay for any expenses related to furthering the technician's education in the automotive technician vocation.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
There is always the opportunity for growth while working at L&L Automotive. There is no specific career path. The technician's career growth is determined by the technician's appetite for knowledge and success.
Can you describe your performance review process?
We have bi-annual performance reviews conducted by the general manager.
What type of safety training is required?
No
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
All of our techs work well together and can mentor younger techs on an as-needed basis.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
We sponsor local youth sports leagues, and BBQ competitions. We are a larger contributor to the Hill Country Rally for the Kids Center for youth. This organization specializes in helping local youth who need a second chance.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
Yes, we sponsor students involved in local competitions.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Yes, we screen applicants to make sure they are interested in the appropriate position based on their certification level and their skill set.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
Gathering background on the applicants and getting to know them.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
No
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
No, the applicant's work experience and level of certification are enough to determine if the applicant is appropriate for the position.

Less than 24 hours
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
That depends on the applicant's availability to conduct an interview.
Automotive Technician
Pay Range: $40.00 - $50.00/hour
Automotive Technicians responsibilities include, but are not limited to: diagnosing and repairing vehicles performing routine automotive maintenance
General Service Technician
Pay Range: $18.00 - $23.00/hour
General Service Technicians responsibilities include, but are not limited to: oil changes tire rotations brake jobs suspension work tune-ups mild to medium maintenance
