What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We have a team of 12 technicians, 4 service advisors, 2 parts counter personnel, 2 porters, along with our Parts and Service management team.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

The shop hours are Monday - Friday 7:30am - 5:00pm and Saturdays 8:00am - 2:00pm

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

2 brake lathes, tire machine, road force balancer, alignment rack

What type of break room facility is provided?

Break room with attached bathrooms and technician locker room. Microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator.

How many bays does your shop have?

How many repair orders do you average per month?

What is your parts ordering process?

The technicians create a list of needed parts for repair and bring it to the parts counter personnel to quote. Parts will place the order when they are notified the job has been sold and/or approved.

What is your policy on side work?

Side work must be approved by service management and cannot be conducted during business hours. A work order must be opened for all work performed in the shop.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We offer mentorship from our senior Kia technicians as well as manufacturer training. Trainings will be paid for by the dealership

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We are dedicated to keeping our technicians at the top of the field in knowledge, experience, and abilities. We will do whatever we can to help facilitate that goal for our technicians.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Performance reviews are conducted annually by service management.

What type of safety training is required?

Kia required safety training

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We have apprentice technicians shadow our senior technicians on more complex repair and diagnostic work to learn alongside them. When we ultimately feel that apprentice technicians are ready to take on the job alone, the senior technicians are there to support them if they get to a point where they are unsure or uncomfortable.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Not currently, something that we would look to get involved with in the future

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

We phone screen all applicants when possible before scheduling in-person interviews.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Our in-person interviews are between the Parts and Service Director, Service Manager, Shop Foreman, and the applicant. They consist of the applicant's work history, abilities, strengths and weaknesses, career goals, and expectations from the applicant if hired.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We perform a criminal background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle history check before hiring.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

No. Skill assessment is done through the interview process

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Up to one week.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

A Level Technician Pay Range: $35.00 - $40.00/hour

We are offering up to $40.00/hr with a 40 hour guarantee for Kia or Hyundai certified technicians.

B Level Technician Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00/hour

We are offering $25.00-$30.00/hr for qualified B level technicians based on experience.

Service Advisor Pay Range: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00/year

Earn up to $80,000/yr. Pay structure is $18.00/hr base rate of pay, with commission and bonus incentives.
