What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
75 shop employees.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Shop Hours 0600-0300 7 days a week. 0600-1630 Day Shift 1630-0300 Night Shift.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
We provide standard shop tooling, floor jacks, tire guns, larger torque wrenches, etc. If you are in a tech trainee program, a starter set and toolbox are provided. If not, you will need to provide your own tools.
What type of break room facility is provided?
Two break rooms. One has vending machines and coffee machines. Both have break tables and tv’s.
How many bays does your shop have?
8 Tractor bays, 4 Trailer bays, 1 Tire bay, 1 lube bay, 1 alignment bay. 1 wash bay. 3 Fuel bays
How many repair orders do you average per month?
On a monthly average 1,000 - 6,000.
What is your parts ordering process?
Our parts group uses Maximo to set reorder points.
What is your policy on side work?
J.B. Hunt is the primary employeer.

Yes, through our Technician Career Advancement program.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We have multiple Technician roles from Trainee to Senior level, shop managers, and other leadership roles across the country and at corporate in Lowell, AR.
Can you describe your performance review process?
We follow an annual performance review process. Depending on your role, you may have more frequent check-ins from mentors or Trainees.
What type of safety training is required?
Safety is our number one priority. We require PPE in all areas of the shop and will teach our new techs what is required.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
If a tech is doing a job that they are not familiar with, we will assign a Sr. tech to training and they will assist the tech with completing the job. If it is a tech trainee, they will have an assigned tech with them for the first month at all times and then slowly start working on their own. We encourage questions and want to ensure our techs have the proper training for their job.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
We are expanding our local partnerships, but we have always focused on community outreach. We connect community organizations to jobs nationwide.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
Partnerships through WrenchWay are one way we have started expanding our scope into high schools and technical schools. Trainee programs are designed for those with less experience to enter the field and learn from experts.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Yes, we have a brief phone screen to assess skill level and abilities before setting up a hiring manager interview.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
One or more managers will ask questions about the work and school you have completed and determine if you meet our minimum qualifications.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
We perform background checks, hair drug screens and if you go into a mobile role we require a DOT physical and an MVR. We do not utilize personality tests.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
At this time, we do not perform assessments during the interview process.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
We aim to have offers same day, but have processes to follow to ensure your offer is adequate and inclusive of the skills and years of experience which may take up to 3 days. Your recruiter will be in touch with you throughout the process keeping you updated and if no offer is extended we would provide feedback.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
We like to move quickly, you should hear from someone in less than one business day initially to screen and set up an interview with a manager, we get offers out quickly and schedule drug screens and start background checks as soon as your offer is accepted. Typically we can accomplish all of this and have someone start in 2 weeks if no issues arise.
