What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Over 35 Technicians and 12 service Advisors. 4 technician team leaders,1express team leader, shop foreman, service lane manager and a great group of valets, cashiers, receptionist and support personnel.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

We are open from 7am to 7pm M-F and 7am to 5pm on Saturday for customer convenience. Our line Technicians work a 5 day work week with alternating Saturdays 7:30am-5:00pm,8:00am-5:30pm or 9:00am -6:30pm and a long 3 day weekend every 4th week. Our express techs enjoy a 4 day per week schedule.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We supply all Honda Special tools. We have state of the art Hunter Hawk-eye Alignment racks(2). 3 Hunter Tire machines,3 Hunter road force balancers, 8 laptops with Denso ST-i interfaces. Computers in every other tech bay for convenience. CDK electronic dispatching and paperless Multi-point inspections and video messaging.

What type of break room facility is provided?

Air conditioned break room with Refrigerators ,microwaves ,and toaster ovens. Tables, chairs and vending machines are also provided.

How many bays does your shop have?

44 air conditioned service Bays

How many repair orders do you average per month?

3500 - 4000

What is your parts ordering process?

We have one of the largest Honda parts departments on the east coast. Chances are , if you need it....we got it. Anything ordered by 4pm will be delivered to us before opening the following day.

What is your policy on side work?

Any employee owned vehicle may be worked on in our shop providing there is an open repair order signed by management.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

Our Leith Culture is to promote from within. All of our team leaders, managers and shop foreman were promoted from other positions within or group.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Absolutely ! Honda offers continuing online module training. Our technicians attend offsite training in Philadelphia or Atlanta at no cost. We also reimburse for any Passed ASE test.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Your mentor will work with you on a daily, weekly, monthly basis reviewing your progress all along the way.

What type of safety training is required?

Annual Safety & compliance training for all employees provided by Crandall Corporation. Safety glasses and nitrile gloves are provided at no cost.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Our senior level team leaders as well as our shop foreman mentor and guide our entry and apprentice level technicians. Express technicians that come to us without Trade school experience also get the same level of attention through our in-house Express team leader with his 30 years of experience.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We are typically involved in several projects through out the year. Toys for tots Food drives for the NC Food Bank Angel tree for local families Various Honda Charities

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Yes! We partner with the Wake Tech Community College as well as UTI and Lincoln Tech. We also have a program within the Leith group that Frequently visits local high Schools encouraging students to enter the Automotive industry.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

Continued growth and being a front runner in the transition to Electronic vehicles.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Yes, we provide an electronic application form or one you can complete at the dealership. It will take about 10-15 minutes.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

In-person interviews typically occur at our dealership where the potential hire will sit down with multiple management personnel. Typically the Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager and/or shop foreman is present for in-person interviews. A few basic questions are asked to find out what you are looking for in a dealership to see if we are a good match. You will have the opportunity to walk through our shop and talk to our technicians.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Yes. Background checks, driving record checks and drug testing are required

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Applicants will talk with the shop foreman or lead technician and they will review different job skills with you.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Offers are made usually with 24 hours contingent on the background and drug screens.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $60,000.00 - $120,000.00/year

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $50,000.00 - $86,000.00/year

C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $41,000.00 - $70,000.00/year

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $31,200.00 - $50,000.00/year

Service Advisor
Service Advisors are primarily customer focused and, as one of the faces of the shop, they are critical in keeping customers happy. Service Advisors are frequently focused on taking customer calls, relaying information to technicians, and selling repair jobs. Both technical and sales experience are helpful for this position.
Pay Range: $45,000.00 - $85,000.00/year
