Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Yes our shop is heated with New Radiant heating! Keeps the cars, floor and everything nice in the winter!

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We average between 5-7 people at any given time.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

We are open 8:00am to 5:30m Monday thru Friday. WE are CLOSED WEEKENDS! We are NOT open LATE hours! We are CLOSED most major holidays!

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

The shop has all the major tools needed to perform the work we do. The individual technicians typically have their own hand tools/personal tools. The company regularly buys and keeps stock of specialty tool so the individual tech does not need to.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a break/lunch space. Refrigerator, microwave, table top oven and access to a Keurig coffee maker.

How many bays does your shop have?

Our building has 15+ bay capacity, we typically work out of the front section with 11 bays.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

We average between 120-150 cars a month. We typically do larger repairs or more work per car. Our average repair dollar amount is above the industry standards.

What is your parts ordering process?

We use the Mitchell shop management system and almost all our part ordering is electronic.

What is your policy on side work?

We dont tell you what you can and can't do on your time. We just expect you to be ready to work when you are

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We allow techs to work on their own cars in the shop and offer discounts on parts. We are family oriented, we understand the need for family and time off.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Yes, we offer hands on and on line training when available.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We have doubled in size and volume over the last few years, while most independent shops have shrunk or closed, We continually look for new talent to share our knowledge with. As we also work on classic, specialty and performance cars, we have much knowledge to share in this category!

Can you describe your performance review process?

We offer a yearly performance review.

What type of safety training is required?

Standard shop "best practices" are required.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We have seasoned technicians and an owner with extensive experience that are always willing to help the youngers tech's, especially learning the hands on way and the way to make work easier and more efficient (so the techs can make more money).

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We have worked with the local schools, the City and hosted a toys for tots drop location.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We work with our local tech school. We have supported them.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

We see our continued growth as "the place to take your car instead of the dealer" in our community. We also have space to grow in our current building!

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Yes 10 to 15 minutes.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes, light screen to gauge the interest level of the candidate

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Interview is completed with the shop manager. We liked to discuss the person's background, certifications, skill set, goals, and get to know them as a person

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We like to check references, need to check for a clean driving record, etc.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

For entry level, we typically perform and skill test. The assessments vary with job expectation.

A Level Technician Pay Range: $35.00 - $45.00/hour

While our A tech's typically like Flat Rate due to their skills allowing to make the most money with that pay program we also can create a custom plan to fit any tech's needs.

B Level Technician Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00/hour

Our B tech's typically like a blend of Flat Rate with an hourly base allowing them to hone their skills and make a consistent wage they can depend on. We also can create a custom plan to fit any tech's needs.
