Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
The shop is heated and cooled. Outside summer temps range in the 90's while the shop stays 72 - 74 degrees!
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
21 Main Shop Technicians with 12 Express technicians
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Technician shifts are 7AM to 4PM or 8AM to 5PM, with a 1 hour lunch.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
The shop provides most heavy equipment such as a engine hoists/stands, table lifts for EV batteries, table lifts for engine/transmissions, hydraulics presses, transmission jacks, etc. Tool room for specialty Ford tools.
What type of break room facility is provided?
Break room is equipped with cable tv, full size refrigerator, coffee pot, soft drink and snack vending machines.
How many bays does your shop have?
34 bays. Not including 2 flat stalls, 1 drive on lift, two alignment racks, and 6 express bays.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
3200 - 3500
What is your parts ordering process?
Parts are ordered by the technician or service advisor once a repair is approved. Emergency order basis if the vehicle stays for the repair, and regular order if the vehicle is picked up.
What is your policy on side work?
No side work during your normal working hours.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
We offer a variety of online and classroom training through Ford Motor Company. Our mentorship program is always evolving depending on the needs of the mentee.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We love to promote from within when able. If there's another area of the business that an employee is interested in, when do our best to have that employee sit in or shadow that area.
Can you describe your performance review process?
Performance reviews are based on the goals set for that employee.
What type of safety training is required?
Safety training is conducted in house based on the standards set by OSHA at that time.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
We have weekly check-ins with both the mentor and mentee to discuss strengths and area's of opportunity. The mentors training & mentee's teachings will adjust depending on the need.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
Ford of Murfreesboro donates to local middle and high school sports programs. We are members of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) advisory board.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Yes, the phone interview is a crucial part of the interview process to understand what the needs are of the applicant and make sure their goals align with our goals.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
A casual sit down conversation to get to know the individual on a professional level. But more importantly to understand them on a personal level too. A tour of the dealership and walkthrough of the shop is also part of the interview.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
The personality check is part of the interview process. Back ground checks and drug screenings are also part of new hire process.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
No. Any skill assessment is discussed during the in person interview.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
Within 2 days

Apprentice Technician
Pay Range: $42,000.00 - $45,000.00/year
Hourly and flat rate pay plans available.
Lube Technician
Pay Range: $32,000.00 - $37,000.00/year
Hourly rate plus spiffs. $2/hr bonus if over 20 hr/s flagged in 1 week.
Flat Rate Technician
Pay Range: $52,000.00 - $200,000.00/year
Hourly and flat pay plans available. Hourly rate is dependent on training level, efficiency, and work quality.
