Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
The Shop is Air Conditioned and Heated.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
The Shop is divided into 5 Teams total. Two teams in the main shop with approximately 20 technician and 4 group leaders, the Diagnostic team, Internal team, and Express Technician team with 2 group leaders.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Shop hours are 7am-6pm. Shift timeframes are 7am-4pm, 8am-5pm and 9am-6pm.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
We provided an extensive special tool inventory.
What type of break room facility is provided?
We have a large break room that is heated and air conditioned. It has microwaves, fridge, freezer, ice maker, vending machines, flat screen TV, Sink, Coffee Maker and Toaster.
How many bays does your shop have?
We have a total of 55 bays.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
We do about 1500+ a month.
What is your parts ordering process?
We use CDK to send a parts request to our parts department and a parts runner delivers the parts to your bay.
What is your policy on side work?
No side work is permitted in the Shop.
Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?
We provide toolboxes in every bay.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
We believe that we never stop learning. We offer Audi specific training in the Buffalo Grove Campus as well as in house training.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
We strongly believe in promoting from with-in the company and have created a career path that starts as an entry-level technician up to a Line Technician in house. Many of our employees have grown with the company, starting at entry-level positions.
Can you describe your performance review process?
Performance is reviewed regularly. We also have yearly reviews were we look at factors such as training level, attendance, punctuality, flagged hours, efficiency, CSI, and FRFT score.
What type of safety training is required?
We abide by all national safety standards and have a private company inspecting the facility regularly for compliance.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
We have established what we call the diagnostic team. This is part of our commitment to growth. It's typically a group of 5-8 technicians that work with our diagnostic foreman to fix complex automotive problems. We focus on building a diagnostic process and learning time management skills to prepare for the line.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
As a strong pillar in social initiatives the Fletcher Jones team is proud to be active in giving back to our local communities.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
We have a very good relationship with the local Automotive schools and have hired many from their graduating classes.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
We phone screen applicants.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
In-person interviews are with the management team.

We preform background checks and drug screenings.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
In-person interviews assess the skill level of the applicant.

Pay Range: $65,000.00 - $160,000.00/year
Expected compensation range is $65,000 - $160,000 / year
