In house parts person that handles parts for techs, either in stock or needs to be ordered

immediate family and personal vehicles only

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We are a group that works well together and have a very low turnover rate. average tenure in 8+ years. The business is ever expanding and in need top notch people to join the team. We specialize in railroad equipment and are very busy because of that.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Yes, we have training for our shop software which every employee operates with a tablet. Also, we send techs to railgear training and manufacture training when classes are offered.

We are one of the leaders in our field, we have innovated several pieces of industry-first equipment, we have a wide range of skills in the shop, and look forward to passing that knowledge and info on to new hires. A tech can expect to learn more here than anywhere else

Reviews and pay raises annually with management

What type of safety training is required?

On-the-job training, but E-rail safe certification will be needed for field techs

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Very well, management is very hands-on with new hires to bring them up to speed, especially with the specialized work we do. Also, all employees get tech support, and nobody is left "hanging out to dry." We work as a team to figure things out and get the job done

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Unfortunately no, the local high schools do not have any programs. We do hire from tech schools, and most people in the shop have attended tech school

Where do you see the shop in five years?

With the rate of growth we are seeing double the current size is realistic.

Yes, 5-10 minutes basic application

Meeting with the boss to show the prospective employee what we do and to see if it would be a good fit for us and them
