Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

Shop is heated but does not have A/C. There are roof vents and lots of ventilation for air flow.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

There are approximately 28 service employees and 5 parts employees.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Service is open from 7am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday and then Saturday from 730 to 2pm. We have multiple schedules depending on individual convenience. 7-4,. 730-430 and 8-5.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Mopar specialized tools, welder, torch, alignment machine, strut compressor, tire machine, tire balancer, cherry pickers, engine stands, brake lathe, all other necessary automotive shop tools.

What type of break room facility is provided?

There is a break room with a refrigerator, microwave, and a nice sitting area. There is another break room with a cable TV.

How many bays does your shop have?

The current facility has 19 lifts plus an alignment rack that are all ALI-certified every year. These lifts range from 10k to 30k. We are working on a new facility with all new state-of-the-art equipment, coming soon.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

1400-1700

What is your parts ordering process?

Cowboy CDJR uses Auto Live so that technicians can order parts from the bays and not have to wait at a parts counter.

What is your policy on side work?

Cowboy CDJR does not allow side work to be completed unless its on their personal vehicles.

Cowboy CDJR is family-oriented and has high standards.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Cowboy CDJR offers top-notch manufacturer training that is completely free to techs. In fact, Cowboy CDJR will compensate the techs for taking these tests. We will also pay 100% for ASE tests.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Cowboy CDJR has been growing year over year. Once the new facility is built the business will need double the employees compared to current. This leaves a lot of options and growth potential.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We complete a performance review upon your first 90 days of employment. After that, we will perform an annual review.

What type of safety training is required?

Training will be required through on-site and web training.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

if you qualify we have an apprentice program that you will work under one of our Master Technicians. During this time you will be taught the essentials to diagnose, repair, and day to day operations.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Cowboy CDJR donates and volunteers time and resources throughout the year in multiple capacities. We also donate 30 trucks to CFD every year.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

Yes. Cowboy CDJR has partnered with LCCC.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

Yes

What do your in-person interviews entail?

Our interview process is easy. You will interview with the department manager to determine if you have the job qualifications and will fit in with the team.

We will perform a drug screening and background check.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

During the interview, questions will be asked to verify knowledge.

Depends on the job description.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

It all depends on a number of applicants but approximately 5 business days.

CDJR Line Technician Pay Range: $30.00 - $38.00/hour

Flat-rate; hourly average pay for A Level techs with OEM certifications can be $30.00-38.00.
