Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The shop is air-conditioned in the summer!! We want you to be comfortable. We are also heated to keep you toasty.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We have two lube techs and 3 techs. We want to grow to 5 techs. So a smaller team where everyone gets along and helps each other.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Tech hours are 8-5 with a one-hour lunch if you choose to take it or not. Our techs are paid a % of labor sales, so the more labor you bill, the more $ you make. Our store is open 7:30 to 6pm

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

We provide all the special factory tools and many shop tools and machines to help you be productive. We are a hunter shop with a camera alignment system, a touchless tire changer, and a road force machine.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have a pretty large climate-controlled break room, with fridge freezer, water, sink, multiple microwaves, pizza oven. Also, a soda machine.

How many bays does your shop have?

We have 13 hoists and many underhood areas. Most hoists have their own door.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

800-1000 invoices

What is your parts ordering process?

We stock a LARGE amount of parts, we get daily delivery of factory parts, and also source parts locally when needed.

What is your policy on side work?

The shop is there to be used to work on your own vehicles. It's where your tools are, so get to fixin'!

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We are a drama-free facility. Keep that drama stuff at home, we don't need it. We are all adults and are here to do a job and make some money. Right?

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We have Factory training that is provided, and we pay you to go. We want you to be educated and grow with us.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We want to grow from within; we won't stop you from getting better. We will provide you with the tools to get your where you want to be in your professional career

Can you describe your performance review process?

We like to do yearly reviews. But we are also so small that we listen every day... why wait to talk only once a year? When the owner comes and gives you your paystub, by all means chat it up!!

What type of safety training is required?

We have safety in mind in everything we do. No need to get hurt.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

When one of your teammates asks you for advice or help, we sure expect them to help. Remember, you started somewhere, and more than likely you were not born a master tech, so someone helped you along the way....

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Yes, we do many parades and are very involved in dairy breakfasts and also in local Sportsmen's clubs. We also support our local teams and events.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

When a young person wants to shadow us, we also welcome it. We also participate in career talks.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

We usually have a short convo over the phone to schedule the interview

What do your in-person interviews entail?

We get to know each other... we will be spending more awake hours together than you do with your family at home. We need to get to know you, and you need to get to know us. Our culture is important to us, and we want to protect it.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

We have an interview process that we feel is good.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

Currently, we do not have a skill assessment. We want to take you at your word.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

Some cases we will hire right on the spot so be prepared to say yes.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

We like to get things done. It isn't long at all.

Technician Pay Range: $50,000.00 - $120,000.00/year

We pay you a % of your labor sales, but will give you a minimum hour guarantee if you desire that. Our techs love the pay plan.

We offer Paid Time Off (PTO) which can be used flexibly. Employees receive 5 days PTO in their first year, increasing to 12 days annually thereafter.
