Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
Yes, there are two natural gas furnaces.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
There are 3-4 employees.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
We are open from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, and occasionally on Saturday from 8 AM to 12 PM.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
The shop provides all specialty tools and equipment. Technicians need to bring their own general hand tools, including impacts, etc.
What type of break room facility is provided?
There is currently no break room.
How many bays does your shop have?
We have 3 bays.
How many repair orders do you average per month?
We average 100 repair orders per month.
What is your parts ordering process?
Parts are ordered by the service writer or shop manager. Parts will be received as soon as possible for technicians to complete repairs
What is your policy on side work?
The shop can only be used for personal vehicles with approval.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
We encourage our technicians to enhance their skill set, and keep up-to-date in our industry. We provide technician classes and courses throughout the year.
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
Through training and keeping up to date on the latest technology allows advancement within the company.
Can you describe your performance review process?
We provide a 90 and 180-day review for new hires and yearly reviews for all employees.
What type of safety training is required?
A rigorous 3-day training is required for all new hires. Current employees have yearly training.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
Experienced techs provide instruction and hands on training. The techs then provide review and supervision with the younger, less experienced Techs.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
We work with local businesses and schools to provide help with automotive education.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
The owner is on an advisory board with a local high school Vocational school. We are also in communication with other high schools and tech schools to provide skill training for the ever-changing world of technology.
