Under The Hood

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The customer waiting area and the front offices have heat and A/C The shop bays do not have heating or A/C. However, we provide large industrial fans to cool down the bays and technicians

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We currently have 8 transmission technicians, as well as the two owners All employee's are like family and we work as a team

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

7:30am - 5:30pm (Monday-Thursday) 7:30am-3:00pm (Friday) NO WEEKENDS!!!!

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

All diagnostic and specialty equipment provided

What type of break room facility is provided?

There is no specific break room. We do provide a picnic table outside one of our bays, and technicians are invited to eat in the office when it suits them

How many bays does your shop have?

14 bays, 2 of which are heavy duty bays

How many repair orders do you average per month?

183

What is your parts ordering process?

Technicians order all of the parts needed after approval from the office. Parts are ordered online or via direct-to-parts house

What is your policy on side work?

We do not mind if side work is done as long as it is done on the employee's own time. Parts must be paid for at shop cost plus sales tax. There is no charge to use the facility but permission does have to be given prior to working on their own vehicle

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We are a family and everyone treats each other with respect. No one is better than anyone else

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

We participate in seminars we participate in, and we also take part in weekly webinars. We partner with three companies that provide these

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

There is always room for technicians to improve their skill sets within our business. Through the different pieces of training, we offer and the knowledge we have in our shop, technicians' skill sets will always grow

Can you describe your performance review process?

No formal performance review. If something comes up, we're happy to take care of it as soon as possible. Employees are always welcome to come and talk whenever they want

What type of safety training is required?

No formal safety training, but during shop meetings things may come up

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Our experienced techs will partner up with some of our more junior techs. Techs will shadow until they are ready to be cut loose. They will be available to answer questions and help through repairs when time permits

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

This is continuous with us. We sponsor local finishing tournaments for breast cancer and other community events

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We sponsor annual fishing trips

Yes, light phone screen to gauge the candidate's interest level and background

What do your in-person interviews entail?

We look to see what type of character the person has. INTEGRITY. From there we will move on to evaluating their skill set

We do check with your prior employer, but we do not do any drug testing or personality test

No, we take a person's word for what their skill level is. Either you will prove yourself on the job, or you will not. There is a 90-day probation period

We are looking for integrity, good character, and employees who are easy to get along with. Just good old fashioned people like us

R & R Technician Pay Range: $17.00 - $28.00/hour

Hourly pay structure based on background, certifications, and skill set

Diagnostic Drivability Technician Pay Range: $20.00 - $30.00/hour

Employees accrue 1 hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked, up to a total of 2 sick days per year. Once employees have become established with the company, a total of 4 sick days is awarded. However, as a family, certain exceptions can occur and will be addressed as the situation arises.
