What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

We have 10 TXM technicians , 15 Toyota Techs and 2 Used car Techs 1 Shop Manager

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Hours of operation: Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm; Saturdays 8:00 am to 2:00 pm

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

The shop provides Toyota Specialty Tools, Diagnostic lap tops, alignment machines, brake lathes, tire balancers, tire mounting machines, Tool boxes.

What type of break room facility is provided?

We have an employee break room with refrigerator , microwave, coffee machine and vending machine.

How many bays does your shop have?

34 bays and 2 alignment bays

How many repair orders do you average per month?

2500 to 3000

What is your parts ordering process?

Technician or advisor orders parts through the parts room

What is your policy on side work?

No side work

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?

We use central dispatch for the shop. We also have a MDT to assist with difficult vehicles.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

The shop pays for ASE Certification and Recertification, and the shop pays for state inspection and emission recertification.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

We use TXM to grow new technicians into the shop. Toyota offers Online and in-person training. Once certified, raises are awarded. Raises are also awarded after passing ASE's.

Can you describe your performance review process?

An annual review is performed by the shop manage.

What type of safety training is required?

Lift operation training

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

There is TXM for inexperienced technicians. Once the are proficient, they will work with a designated Technician to learn the craft.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

Bennett Toyota has deep ties to the community through Mr. Bennett's philanthropy.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We work very closely with LCTI and BVTS (local Vo-tech Schools). The service manager is also on the Advisory board for NCC (local Community College).

Where do you see the shop in five years?

Our five year goal is to continue to serve the Lehigh Valley as the Top Toyota Dealer!

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

There is a 3 page application to complete.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?

In-person interviews preferred.

What do your in-person interviews entail?

A tour of the facility is given, and there is a conversation with the applicant. The shop manager performs a second interview.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?

Yes to all.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

No

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

As soon as possible. Normally, the drug screen and driver's license check take 24 hours to process.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?

As soon as possible, can be as quick as 2 days.

A Level Technician
A Level Technicians are highly skilled technicians that have strengths in their diagnostic and mechanical ability. This level of technician typically has many years of experience and education. We view an A Level Technician as the highest skilled technician in a shop
Pay Range: $67,000 - $110,000/year

Technician production Bonus

B Level Technician
B Level Technicians are skilled in mechanical repair and, while not their specialty, have some diagnostic skills. B Level Technicians generally have a fair amount of experience and can be trusted to handle most repairs.
Pay Range: $55,000 - $65,000/year

Technician production Bonus

C Level Technician
C Level Technicians are more of entry level technicians. C Level Technicians’ responsibilities typically include basic maintenance, alignments, brake and suspension work, along with other base level repairs.
Pay Range: $40,000 - $50,000/year

Technician production Bonus

Lube Technician
Lube Technicians are entry level technicians that focus on routine maintenance such as oil changes, changing tires, and inspections.
Pay Range: $27,040 - $35,360/year ($13.00 - $17.00/hr)

Collision Technician - A Level Pay Range: $38,000 - $50,000/year ($18.27 - $24.04/hr)
