Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?

The Shop is heated, but not air conditioned.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?

Our main shop repair teams are 5 man teams with an apprentice.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?

Our shop hours are open from 7-6 Monday-Saturday. Our technicians work 4 days a week and 3 day weekends.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?

Hunter Alignment machines Hunter Brake Lathes New A/C machines A room full of special tool for Toyota repair.

What type of break room facility is provided?

The technicians break room is located near the shop. It's a mid to large size room with multiple dinning tables, 2 refrigerators and 2 vending machines. Bagels are provided every Wednesday. In our customer lounge we have a full Coffee/Doughnut shop that also serve great sandwiches.

How many bays does your shop have?

52 bay including 2 Hunter alignment machines.

How many repair orders do you average per month?

5500 Repair Orders

What is your parts ordering process?

Parts can be ordered and received by 2:00 daily. Part are ordered through our MPI inspection software.

What is your policy on side work?

Side work is not performed in our shop, but employees can work on family members and close friends vehicles on their off days.

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?

Monthly we will go over your Toyota certification eModules and what is need to reach your next goal for advancement.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?

Beaverton Toyota has a "Path to Success". Pay raises are made as you complete certification and ASE testing. So we don't hold you back, growth comes with the your own drive to succeed.

Can you describe your performance review process?

Team Leads will perform month to month reviews on work quality and team performance.

What type of safety training is required?

Ethos Compliance test are performed monthly on safety and other issues.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

Entry level tech start off performing Toyota TXM vehicles which are minor service from 5k to 25k miles and complete eModules to reach their Toyota Maintenance certification.

How does your shop get involved with the local community?

We work closely with schools in our area Automotive programs.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?

We currently have 4 members of our local high working with us.

Where do you see the shop in five years?

In 5 years, we plan to have more skilled leveled technicians then we've ever had before, and we are always working to have a better working environment for our employees.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?

Yes, a short phone call is customary.

Our in-person interview entails going over work history, pass experiences and future goals.

Yes, we do perform background check and drug screenings.

Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?

We ask about your Toyota or recent manufacture certifications.

After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?

3-4 days

Toyota Express Technicians Pay Range: $35,000 - $38,000/year

$19.00 Entry level hourly pay position.

Certified Toyota Technician Pay Range: $43,200 - $46,500/year

$22.50 - $24.50 flat rate Fully Certified Technician, Without ASE . Additional pay depending on ASE's completed. - A1 Engine Repair - A2 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle - A3 Manual drive train & axles - A4 Suspension & Steering - A5 Brakes - A6 Electrical/Electronic systems - A7 Heating & Air Conditioning - A8 Engine Performance

Expert Toyota Technician Pay Range: $53,760 - $60,000/year

$28.00 flat rate Fully Certified Expert Technician with all major 8 ASE (which are required)

Master Technician Pay Range: $63,360 - $70,000/year

$33.00 flat rate Fully Certified Master Technician

MDT (Master Diagnostic Technician) Pay Range: $71,040 - $90,000/year

$39.00 flat rate MDT with all three additional ASE’s (A9,X1,L3) - A9 Light Vehicle Diesel Engines - X1 Undercar Specialist Exhaust Systems - L3 Light Duty Hybrid/Vehicle Specialist
