What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
We have a Working Shop Foreman who dispatches work, currently 14 Techs in the shop
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Monday - Friday 7:30am-5:30pm Every Other Saturday 8:00am-2:00pm
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
Toyota specialty tools, and all major equipment is provided by the dealership
What type of break room facility is provided?
We have a large break room with Microwave, Toaster Oven, Fridge/Freezer (icemaker), and Water Cooler. We provide all utensils, plates, bowls, cups, etc.
How many bays does your shop have?
15 Bays
How many repair orders do you average per month?
Around 1600-1700
What is your parts ordering process?
We operate everything thru Xtime Inspect which is a digital Multi Point Inspection. Previously ASR Pro
What is your policy on side work?
Every vehicle that enters the shop Must have a ticket on it, we are fine with working on Friends and Families vehicles but do not allow side work on vehicles in the shop.
Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?
Every time you do anything with wheels and tires you must hand torque the lug nuts prior to moving vehicle from bay
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
We provide online Toyota training opportunities. We also provide upfront ASE costs, provide ASE study guides, and pay for any recertifications
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
Career growth is always available, and an option for the right candidate. We have four different locations and help put technicians on a path to achieve their goals. These can be discussed during the review process to make sure we stay the coarse
Can you describe your performance review process?
Reviews are done twice a year with smaller discussions happening throughout the year depending on the situation. Discussion includes how the technician thinks the year is going, improvements that they think could be made for the company and themselves, and where the dealership can help
What type of safety training is required?
Online training, HR training, KPA quarterly training in-house
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
Currently, we are getting more into the mentoring side of things. More junior techs can work side by side with an experienced technician when time permits. The experienced technician will be available for questions and can help through repairs
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
It's important to us to donate to our community which has treated us well. We are always donating to our local schools, and charities when opportunities come up. We also try and get involved in the technical program at our local high school
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
We get involved with our local high school anyway we can. Toyota is also building a T-Ten program about on hour and a half away from here at the Sergeant J. Reynolds community college
Is there anything else you’d like to mention about career development and community?
Lots of involvement with local community, willing to grow our own technicians, but also happy to take experienced techs
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Yes, more of a screening to get to the in-person interview

Work capabilities Strong points and weak points, what drives you personally, your personal hobbies etc.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
Must pass a Background Check & Drug Test, Must have a valid Drivers License

No, assessment is done through the questions during the interview stages
